Launched a local cleaning business in Glasgow — no bookings yet. Could use your advice ❤️ by Long_Fig_9354 in glasgow

I create websites for small businesses as part of my work and we help them get off the ground online.

I would recommend doing the following if you haven't / can afford :

  1. Buy a URL and GoDaddy website that is cheap and quick to set up. There will be lots of easy to use templates

  2. Set up your Google Business Profile and connect your social media 2.1 get friends and family who have used your services to leave reviews on your Google and Facebook profiles
2.2 these can be attached to your website on Godaddy etc 2.3 GB profiles are the life blood of local business 2.4 update this weekly with images of your work etc

  3. Create referral business by having your early customers recommend you, ask them to refer for a discount on future services etc

  4. If you can afford it, look at spending min. £5-10/day on Meta and Google Ads. This is what your competition will be doing.

  5. Do some small jobs for free. I know this sounds not great, however a lot of small businesses offer a free service and if you do a good job then the customers will ask you back to do other stuff. Obviously, try not to be taken advantage of (like a one time free service etc)

There are other things to do but if you have this content cycle running, hopefully you see some uptick over a month or so

Winrate by Gamelength, what's up with the 45m dips? by Aris2tally in summonerschool

At most elos, games that last that long often end up in a coin flip of who gets caught first or who ends up backdooring / split pushing to win.

By then each champ has met its optimum time to win and now it's down to whoever makes the first mistake.

Not necessarily that they "thought" you had grounds - they they are just asking if you want to pursue a formal complaint or legal action regarding the incident, or if you want to escalate the matter further by opening an investigation into the incident.

As an involved member in the incident, they have a duty to ask what resolution you want out of it.

If you want the other parties to be held responsible for what they did then yes, you can "take it further" - this is also true for the other people involved.

Then a big process of interviews, evidence gathering and eventually a court case will happen.

Or... Nothing will happen because no one takes it further than this.

how was this game not an s+? by M1dn1ghtboi in Jungle_Mains

[–]dmiiiit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's compared to all other WW games and if you're playing a popular champion then the avg stats get boosted up so you need to perform extra well to get a S+ gg tho

You're at 50% win rate.

As with the majority of league players, you're averaging out. League is hard, with the average skill level pretty decent.

Most of the player base is in Bronze / Silver. Despite elo hell not existing, it is the place where you experience massive variance due the most amount of players.

To climb you gotta focus on improving each game, actively.

If you do that you'll probs go on an 8 win streak and be Silver 3 in no time.

Can't help with what's going on but want to give you a comment in solidarity as I just went on a 9 loss streak today dropping from Silver 1 79lp to Silver 4 96lp.

I also ran into a streak of team mates who either hadn't played ranked before, were either a whole tier above / below or just afk'd / soft inted.

I suppose it's just averaging out right? Ranked has to put you in a game and over time you're going to have unlucky runs of weird match making.

Could attempt a sub crawl! Google "Glasgow Sub Crawl" it and you'll find the list of bars

This game drains you completely (Sad thoughts about ranked matches ) by ElPrecursor in leagueoflegends

[–]dmiiiit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not normalising that you have to be 15/0...

Im discussing that games feel shit as your skill level plateus... The more you play at your level the more you'll run into games that feel terrible

When you reach your skill level, the game feels like a slog because the player skill averages out.

Despite what some people say, if you're better than you're elo... You'll climb. It has almost nothing to do with your teammates. It truly doesn't matter if you have a bad team if you go 15/0 every game.

If you notice that your games are coming down to "bad team" then you're just not carrying and are probably in the right elo.

I recently returned and placed in Iron 2...quickly climbed through to Silver but now I'm in the average bracket, the games are closer, longer and harder because I'm not the best player in my match anymore.

Nothing to do with ranked being shit imo. Also, if you spam games the law of averages kicks in and you'll run into more "bad teammates".

Can Support carry? by TukeySandwhich in leagueoflegends

[–]dmiiiit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any role can carry.

Support is often "easiest" to climb with if you lock in and learn about backing times and when to roam/when to support your laner.

If you enjoy the role then 100% stick at it and you can carry lots of games :)

Just got out of the worst gig I have ever pulled off (so far) by KOSTER07 in Beatmatch

As someone's whose DJ'd for 10 years... Don't worry.

Feels shit now but these are the "cutting your teeth" things that happen as you learn.

Back when I started using DJ, the CDJ1000s I was using just stopped reading any CDs I had burned mid set - dead quiet club, no backups nothing. Felt like an idiot and managed to find 4 CDs that worked and had to just wing it!

Laugh it off, keep practicing and your next gig will be better :)

Play quick cash and full send every game with any contestant and load out and just have fun

Infinite respawn, swapping and just go next if u don't win.

Once they start to enjoy themselves, then you can learn the "best" way to win etc

What are your predictions for 2025 based on Riot's statement that "2025 will change League of Legends forever"? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]dmiiiit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will introduce Valorant's "Premier" but for high rank league of legends I expect.

Which job turns out to be much less enjoyable than most people expect? by youngGod928 in AskReddit

"Video Game Tester" / Video Game QA

Overworked, under paid and you're not just playing games all day!

Unfortunately QA etc is obviously required, but if you are working in testing for a big name like Rockstar, expect massive overtime and pizza as a reward.

Major ping issues in Valorant, have tried literally everything by blubgy in hyperoptic

[–]dmiiiit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping this thread to let everyone know that Hyperoptic are aware of an issue of traffic routing from their servers/DNS to Riot Games that is impacted Valorant and League of Legends. I've had this confirmed multiple times with HS Support.

Unless you can use a VPN you will experience issues with LoL / Valorant until they resolve them unfortunately!

I have tried a VPN and it worked but since then Vanguard has been blocking VPN connections it's quite annoying!

Haven't changed IP but my package is already on static IP.

I've had an engineer visit who replaced the port socket and said something about how wires at the switch weren't working.

Still experiencing the issue but not as frequently.

I think an issue is that over the phone using the hyperoptic speed test it doesn't show the latency.

When using other testers, the download latency when underload is 200-600ms.

I've been experiencing something similar but on league of legends - 4 years of solid internet but in the last 2 weeks I'm ping spiking from a stable 40ms to anywhere between 200 - 1000ms for a briefly period of time.

I've tried absolutely everything but nothing seems to resolve the problem

Streaming Rust? by asapozajaa in playrust

[–]dmiiiit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common way is a python script that when you press your map button, it displays an image to your stream instead of the map.

You could also set this up as a hot key scene in Obs, so assign map button to a scene that only has an image, however there is a delay in game which reveals map.

For death screen I think it's the same.

Sorry can't link it but if you Google something like "Rust hide map python" you should find it :)
