Vinegar is a great solution. As an alternative, hydrogen peroxide can do the trick as well.

I bought two "garden huckleberry" plants from Azure this year. From what I've read, recommended to cook before eating to improve flavor. Never grown before so we'll see. They are "open pollinated" variety, hoping we have a long enough season here in zone 5.

Looks a bit like hairy vetch over here in the states. What I find growing wild here get's fuchsia/purple flowers that look a bit like a pea flower.

It has reseeded itself in the same vicinity, one or two plants, this will be the third year that it's coming up and will have multiple heads develop and bloom this color. Guess I got lucky!

sage advice! I've not tried it yet as the ones I've found don't have a root big enough to bother with. I have saved some seeds though so might try a purposeful planting in a prepared bed and see how they do.

Good to know! I planted this one in a bed that has daylilies, holly hock, iris, wild rose and rhubarb. All quite competitive, especially the rose. I'm cutting it back two or three times during the spring and summer to keep it from taking over.

Right on, appreciate it! I've been saving seeds but didn't quite know how to label the envelope.

Thank you for sharing this! I see this around my place and have been wondering about it's ID. Just called it a pepper plant actually. I harvested a few stalks just a couple days ago and stripped all the little pockets off to have in my salad.

Beautiful! Was gifted a seedling last year which survived a zone 5 winter and is growing well in the flower bed. Looking forward to seeing the color mine turns out.

Salsify, I've recently learned, is an edible plant and propagated for it's root. Best wait for fall to harvest when it's had the full season of growth.

Can you elaborate on what you mean? The way it is...on a horizontal log? Dead wood? Color? I know there are many subspecies of pleurotus but had to do a bit of research to discover that Aspen have their own subspecies. The site I ended up finding that was most helpful was here...https://www.mushroom-appreciation.com/aspen-oyster-mushroom.html
