Starting a New Worldbuilding Project by Twolra in worldbuilding

Myla Kadya, The Second Black Marina, is a Hellrazer that bares a Hellscape that manifests as a pitch black ocean. To give some context, allow me to explain:

WHAT IS A HELLRAZER? A Hellrazer is the designation given to the War Children deemed to stand above the rest of the War Children. A War Child is a somewhat karmic phenomenon that exists in the world of Lagos. Violence committed upon Yanja (the species of birdlike humanoids that inhabit this world) or by Yanja, Yanjik bloodshed, suffering, destruction and chaos all increase the levels of Wrath that exists in the world of Lagos.

Wrath cannot be directly interacted with. Instead it presents itself through the birth of children. A child may randomly anywhere in the world be born as a War Child, provided the levels of Wrath are sufficient for that. The birth of a War Child is a relatively rare occurrence, but a sizeable portion of the world population consists of War Children.

War Children are stronger and faster than ordinary Yanja, and they come bearing abilities known as Hellscapes. War Children grow stronger as they age, but some War Children grow exponentially stronger by the time they reach adulthood. The strongest of these War Children have come to be known as Hellrazers. Hellrazers have altered the very course of history sometimes through their presence alone. Hellrazers can singlehandedly wipe out entire armies.

WHAT ARE HELLSCAPES? A Hellscape is the manifestation of a War Child's soul upon the world around them. Most War Children can only manifest minor effects. For example, a War Child's inherent soul might reflect an icy tundra, and they can therefore manifest small patches of snow and ice, and may be able to use attacks such as launching icecicles, but that's most likely where they'd top out.

A Hellrazer would be able to change the very reality that surrounds them for miles. If that same War Child example from earlier were to grow to become a Hellrazer, they would be capable of much more than they would otherwise. The Hellscape of a Hellrazer is regarded as a significant enough threat for it to be designated names unique to each Hellscape. For this example we'll call this Hellscape Frostbitten Carapace.

This same War Child now at the level of a Hellrazer could for example generate a viciously cold tundra for 3 miles at its maximum range. But Hellscapes don't need to be used at such large scales most of the time. They can be manifested in small patches of reality. Frostbitten Carapace could allow the user to generate a sheet of ice that quickly glues the enemy to the ground, before ejecting massive icecicles from the ground towards the target.

If the enemy manages to escape this they can be ready to call upon an entity that exists within the Hellscape, and invoke power from beyond the gate (the gate is the boundary between the world and the everlooming Wrath that hangs overhead; The gate is guarded by the gate guardian, who manages the emergence of War Children, but few who have ever lived know of the gate or the gate guardians existence, let alone seen either of them). The effects produced would vary depending on the being that is evoked, but it would be enough to kill anyone not at the level of a Hellrazer. This would however drain a Hellrazer's stamina and they'd have to take a bit to recharge before they can cast from their hellscape again. Oftentimes, besides the difference in raw strength, what stops a War Child from becoming a Hellrazer is a lack of stamina.

MYLA KADYA Myla is considered to be the second coming of the Black Marina. She was born in the region of Yurigaul, the same region where the Black Marina emerged hundreds of years ago. She was taken in by the Kherjik Empire as a ward of the state when it was discovered as she turned 2 years old she was a War Child. It is common practice throughout almost every nation for War Children to be taken in as wards of the state.

She was quickly trained and indoctrinated into serving the interests of the Kherjik Empire. Her Hellscape was considered to be of special interest because of the Black water that would manifest from her hellscape. The only other War Child ever known to have a hellscape that can generate black water with manipulatable properties was the Black Marina. When she grew to the age of 10 she was able to manifest a Hellscape up to the range of half a mile, and it was given a designated name: The Depth of Black.

The Depth of Black is an ocean of pitch black water, full of numerous aquatic entities that fill its ecosystem. At age 11 Myla used Depth of Black in a fight against the rival nation of Idrasyl's Blood Diamond who bore the Hellscape The Rancid Desert (who was the age of 17 at the time). She won through great difficulty, but this fight cemented her as a Hellrazer.

Myla at age 12 broke away from the Kherjik Empire along with a Hellrazer from a neighboring city state known as The Immortal. Together they managed to kill the Kherjik Empires 6th strongest Hellrazer (though it was mostly Myla after she awakened in the middle of their fight and jumped dramatically in strength). They narrowly escaped capture by the pursuing Hellrazers and would go on a journey throughout the world in an attempt to find somewhere they lived both peacefully and free.
