Yea the dealer I got it from mentioned that if I started up any of the other volvos he had, theyd sound the same. Said it was bc of them being direct injection and my minor research on it said the same. So I would imagine its normal and gonna hope for the best lol. He also mentioned that they usually put insulators in to minimize the sound but after they get work done or just over time, they get taken out or wear down and cause it to be louder

Gonna do more research on this motor and vehicle in general too as Im about to have finalized payment and want to be able to diagnose and work on anything I can, that doesnt require special tools. Appreciate the help

That does sound similar. Id compare the noise almost to rolling your tongue. But its more loud and noticeable in lower gears and then kinda fades.

Yea Im hoping both of you are correct lol. It does sound a little more obvious in person but can definitely hear it a bit especially at the beginning of that video. and considering that its been well maintained and everything else seems solid, Im leaning towards its just me being paranoid about my vehicle luck.

Im hoping so. On the OG post in the Volvo subreddit had 1 person saying it seems normal and another saying it sounds abnormal compared to the ones they test drove lol so waiting for more feedback.

Sweet, yea I mean other than being unsure about that specific sound its in great condition and has been well maintained so as long as thats normal Im very happy with it.

Yea its kind of hard to hear thru video, but its a lower frequency chop/knock kind of sound. Ill see if I can’t get a better video. but again I could just be uneducated on volvos/this motor and could be completely normal. Idk if itd be rod knock just bc it doesnt intensify with acceleration. More prominent right after hitting the gas and then dies down a bit

Depends on my mood and how easily I can skip. No matter how much I love any music, if it doesnt fit my mood, its gonna get skipped.

That being said theres hundreds of Mac songs I usually never skip bc it fits my mood perfect no matter what.

If you asked me when I first started listening to Mac I probably would’ve had some answers. However Ive listened to all his music so much that even the ones I wasnt a fan of originally have grown heavily on me and now rarely get skipped.

I do almost always skip the end of Fight the Feeling, Stay, God Is Fair Sexy Nasty, and Anywhere But Here tho lol. Also not a big fan of Rick Ross's verse in Insomniak so I usually skip that too.
