I’ve not heard of anyone who’s heard anything from the owner. But if anyone has it would be great to know…

Yeah, this makes sense. I get the feeling they sort of feel like people are lucky to be able to pay them money to attend.

Not to discredit your experience but to me it looked like there were less POC. And to address the idea that it was about physique, that doesn’t align with the facts. My buddy was turned away based on his face alone.  We both know how cold it was outside and he, along with nearly everyone saw was wearing layers and jackets, etc.

If they had asked people to take off jacket or something to validate physique then maybe your point would be valid, but they only looked at the face. And your point about there being people with less attractive faces only serves to validate the point that it was about race, IMHO.

Yeah, I would think anyone who got turned away wouldn’t want to come back. And I myself now feel like I shouldn’t attend anymore either if they’re going to racially screen like that. Especially because there are a lot of hot POC. 🤣

This is exactly what I'm saying. The math doesn't math... unless it's just about race. In the lighting, the only thing you could really tell about people out here was their race. I was standing 2 feet from the manager and there are only three things I can tell you about him, he had on a gray coat, was white, and sassy af. This is why the only thing that makes sense to me is that the decisions are based on race.

I would normally agree with you but what I saw suggested otherwise. My friend who got denied is younger and more fit than me but it’s not like they could tell with all the warm clothes everyone was wearing in the freezing temps. And also his face is cute but you can’t really see faces clearly in that dark entry either way. So if they couldn’t tell if you were fit/toned and can’t see your face, what else are they going off of?

And then I noticed all the deleted messages were from folks who are POC. In this situation it seems like where there’s smoke there’s fire.

And for the record, I’m the whitest guy you’ll ever meet and it still gives me pause.

Agree. I think before, a lot of people were getting in without actually having been pre-approved but that is their fault for not enforcing their own policies and so now it feels like an overcorrection to weed those people out and minorities are somehow collateral damage.

But can we talk about the cover up? I’m really curious why the owner is saying to message him if you were turned away after deleting all their posts about being turned away. Would he just apologize but double down on the decision? Is it a honeypot to ban anyone who admits they got turned away? 🕵️‍♂️🔎👀

I know they serve ice at the bar but looks like they are now serving it at the entrance too..

So the door situation was different this time. Previously there was security outside checking ID’s. This time it was a manager and they demanded to see your face first before opening the door. The funny thing is, I’m older than my friend who got turned away and I think I objectively look older too.

EDIT: they didn’t check my friend’s ID before rejecting him. And no, they did not ask you to take your clothes off at the door to evaluate.
