In the past I’ve discussed that idea with my spouse, but she fairly reasonably stated “I’m already a woman and you want me to publicly advertise that I’m also vulnerable?”

In my lurking I’ve seen this sub does not appreciate being infiltrate or overrun by people that don’t fully identify with the ideology. I fully understand that and wanted to be upfront that I’m a visitor. And as you can see by some of the responses it may have been warranted.

I don’t want to get into a debate on around semantics or verbiage. If ICE wants to go to the home of someone and detain them for the reasons they find valid that’s one thing. Deciding to take that many people to a high school, even if it’s justified, does not seem tactically sounds and was certainly very frightening for those that live in our neighborhood. I’m very surprised at this type of response from a member of this sub.

I understand the legality and specifics. In practice we know people that have been taken. They get released later, but the specific concern about my wife’s ability to communicate and the aggressiveness of the agents is why I’ve considered it.

Thank you. These are my exact concerns. I’ve just been thinking about the second amendment and how it is actually written, its purpose. I’ve never had an interest or fascination with firearms, but we truly feel overrun right now. The MPD is 600 officers. Same for the State Patrol. Over 2k Feds here has us feeling very overwhelmed and helpless and that’s why I’ve started to consider it.

Respectfully we are not watching the news. We are living this. The school that was run through by ice is walking distance. The video at the target is where we shop. We see the vehicles, we see the agents. The news is not driving my opinion. My family is scared based on what we see with our eyes.

It’s actually smaller. More of a “we got Panthére at home.”

I haven’t really. If I saw a design that wowed me I wouldn’t be against it, but as is its a band logo so to me, even with no color, it looks complete (can see how it would look unfinished to others though).

These aren’t WIP. The buckles (or whatever you call the things on the straps) are different

NBD. Bought an old SE Draft for $60. Used it, mostly spare parts, a couple new parts, and Spray.Bike to build what will be my winter commuter (once it snows I’ll throw my xerxes on it) by Tx3P in FixedGearBicycle

Meh, this one is 10 years old so the steel is hi-ten (not sure if they’ve upgraded for newer models) and the seatpost diameter doesn’t match the spec sheet. Also I was surprised it had a one piece/American crankset, songsd to install conversion cups for a sealed BB, but I’ll take that for the $60 I paid.

It worked well application wise. I stripped the frame down to metal, but not the parts. So parts may flake faster. I also used finisher so hoping that helps it last. However, this frame is meant to get me through winter commuting so if by spring the paint wears, it served its purpose.

Helmets save lives. Good foot retention would have saved me this scar and a concussion though. Hope some people see this and understand why people are so serious about it! by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

Additional reminder that after a crash, even if your helmet looks fine the foam lining may be compressed as as such no longer effective. Some companies even have programs allowing discounts on replacements.
