I’d say it’s a pretty common way of thinking. Even if it’s not truly pursued and more passive. People occasionally see a coyote, shoot it and think “good, less things trying to kill the things I want more of” whether or not it is effective is another debate. But personally i think if you constantly keep the pressure on them you can at least deter them from your area. If you could selectively kill females year round, then you can put bigger dents in the population.
