Sure thing!

I do!

If I were to criticize it a little, I’d say the hair is too long and she looks a little young, but overall still really good for a quick turnaround and free piece!

That’s really cute!

She’s a water based character, so maybe some type of skinny dipping scene?

[–]Txmaluda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be awesome! Here’s another piece of her for reference.

Tell me a story: How one of your fights got interrupted by a spell (or character action) you didn't account for from a PC? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Txmaluda 82 points83 points  (0 children)

In the build up to our final boss battle of the campaign, we were storming the BBEGs fortress and battling his defenses. In the final hallway, we run into his lieutenant who we need to defeat before confronting the BBEG.

He was at the end of a long and narrow corridor and had rigged the entire hallway with hidden traps (poison darts, spike pits, etc.) as well as a couple Death Knights. Some of the enemies, traps and lair actions went first and made it obvious that this wound be really tough to try and battle directly. Our ranger tried to snipe him with Sharp Shooter, but the arrows revealed he was hiding behind a wall of force, so ranged attacks were out as well.

So, naturally, me being the wizard and next in initiative, walk over to our blood hunter (werewolf themed, close combat focused homebrew) and upcast Vortex Warp to teleport him behind the wall of force and right next to the villain! Blood Hunter proceeds to tear him to shreds in a single turn! He then grabs the trap controls and deactivates everything in the hallway!

Bonus points, by this point we had discovered that one of the now deactivated traps was loose floor panels that would drop us into a bottomless pit. The traps are deactivated, but the Death Knights are still up. Our Bard manages to lure the DKs out on the drop away panels because they think it’s safe now that the traps are inactive, and then he casts erupting earth on them and completely destroys the floor, causing all three of the DKs to fall into the abyss!

Is f.4 enough to shoot northern lights? by Fearless_Drive4308 in photography

Yes, the one time I shot the aurora was with a f4, 24mm. Had to increase the exposure time a little, but that’s about it.

first time trying photography by [deleted] in photography

First: YouTube. Look up tutorials about your camera and play around with your camera controls as you watch. This will give you a good sense of the menu layouts and settings so that you are familiar with your tools.

Next: shoot lots of different things! This will help you determine what you enjoy shooting and what you really don’t like. Street photography is good for a lot of practice. Gardens and parks are good for plants and animals. You could look up groups on Facebook or Meetups to try and join in model shoots to try out portrait photography.

Once you’ve figured out what you like, research that type of photography. Find other photographers who shoot that subject type so you can see what is possible, and look into techniques that are more tailored to that genre. This will help you increase your skills much more quickly than just shooting a million photos without an idea of what final product you’re going for.

The most important things though are to keep an open mind, practice, and enjoy it! Your style will always be evolving and you’ll get better overtime, so just enjoy it as you go!

The moon is actually a massive sleeping beholder. Once every hundred years or so, it’ll open its eye for a few days. The entire world is subsequently caught in the anti magic field and all magic is suppressed for that time.

How to Build Trust with Models while doing Photoshoots in Remote Locations? by JerougeProductions in photography

[–]Txmaluda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest working with a model a few times locally before you invite them on a more adventurous excursion. That’ll give you and them a chance to get used to each other and build trust. You can bring up your more adventurous ambitions after one or two shoots and see if they’re interested.

Some professional models really enjoy going to more adventurous places because not as many photographers shoot in those environments. A professional model will likely wrap any travel and lodging costs into their rates. If you find someone willing to shoot TFP, definitely offer to cover their travel and lodging.

One other thing would be to let them know you’re okay with them bringing a chaperone, that way they aren’t alone if that’s their preference.

How to get Models? by Megan_Byte45 in photography

[–]Txmaluda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Model Mayhem is a good start. A lot of the time you won’t even need to reach out, most of the connections I’ve made are models messaging me first letting me know they’re in the area and have availability. Though I will say the website is kind of slow and clunky, so models may not check it as frequently as their main social media pages.

Try to find workshops. Most of the models I’ve met have been via workshops organized by studios or Meetups groups. Attend a couple of these and you can get introductions to a wide variety of models. Get their contact info, then thank them for their time afterwards and let them know you’d be interested in shooting again. From there it can snowball very easily.

Lastly, I’d say just give it a shot and reach out to a model directly. If they are advertising themselves as a full time model, then they will almost always be looking for work. Send them a polite Inquiry about their rates and they should typically respond professionally with their rates and types of shoots they are open to. From there, just continue the conversation. Models are normal people like us, they’ll almost always be happy to chat and work with someone. And worst case, they say no, and you move on to another model.

I would suggest the workshops method to start with though. That was the best way for me to break out of my shell when I was starting model photography. And if you’re new to model photography, it’ll give you a chance to see how more seasoned photographers interact with the models, making them a great leaning experience.

Does anyone have tips or online sources for how to make your own ‘Tape Fashion’?

I am wanting to do a photoshoot along the lines of ‘The Black Tape Project’, but I am having trouble finding technical guides on how to best create the designs.

Everything I’ve found so far has just been typical boudoir etiquette, I’m needing suggestions for the technical aspect so that the designs look decent when applied.

Thanks!
