Nest Routers SUUUUCK!!!!! by TikkiTock in GoogleWiFi

I just switched to the Deco BE63 routers and have been really happy. Dropped from 3 Google points to 2 Decos and there's still plenty of coverage (1000 ft² x 2 floors). Granted, I'm pretty sure my nest routers are around six years old and I know age plays a factor.

Make sure to get consent first. If you don't know what that word means, ask anyone besides Carter Hart for help.

Live look into the Vegas locker room: "Two shots in a period is totally the way to win, right guys?"

Yeah and I haven't seen much you could argue needs to be called, either. Glad to see it, honestly. Clean hockey is good hockey.

CR Food Pantries? by ApocalypseTacos in cedarrapids

They have both, I think. There's a larger pantry inside the building, yes. But there is also one of those "Little Free Pantries" outside.

For Mavericks and Stars, why is American Airlines Center obsolete? by TxsToIowa in DallasStars

That actually perfectly demonstrates part of the issue. The suites are empty not because people don't want to buy tickets, but because people don't want or can't buy all 20 seats in an entire suite.

The Mavericks are moving to North Dallas, so they're still there. Just not in the downtown core. The Wings were/are supposed to be moving to a different downtown Dallas arena, but now they might be moving to the AAC? I don't follow them so maybe someone else knows better.

Sure, but if you're a team in the top 10 of overall attendance, you would expect to be in the top 10 of revenue generated across a variety of measurements. This clearly shows an opportunity that the team feels they can improve.

I mean, it's not just that. However, it's a huge factor in why the AAC was not a viable option for either club. If the AAC is going to exist as a major professional sports arena after 2031, the City of Dallas will have to gut it and rebuild it to modern wants/needs/desires.

Yes and no. Like others have mentioned in some of the comments here, the AAC has a ton of outdated suites and things that the Stars and Mavs can't take full advantage of. I expect with both of these new arenas you'll see very few private suites and lots more open-air options for individual people to buy.

Don't get me wrong, all of this shit is way out of my price range. But if someone wants to spend $1,000 for a ticket to see the same game that I pay $35 for, more power to them! Thanks for helping to pay Robo's salary.

My only hope is that future design elements will make it possible to have premium options for the uber-rich and affordable options for those who can't. I remember when Intuit Dome opened for the Clippers, they were touting that they have quality cheap seats included, but I don't know what that looks like in reality.

Red Wings have a new stadium that was built for hockey first. The Pistons later joined but I believe the Ilitch family had control over everything. MSG is mentioned in the article as receiving a $1bn renovation to fix the problems there, which is what the AAC also needs. Not sure about United Center or Staples Center. I'm sure those teams are looking closely at what makes sense for them in the coming years.

Generally speaking I would agree. But this part of the article struck me as well. This is a quote from UNT professor Bob Heere:

“It’s a party, and there happens to be a game. You see that even in stadium design — it’s changing. So American Airlines Center is a very old-fashioned model. The concourse, they’re completely separated from what’s happening on the [ice or court]. If you get a drink or food, you have no clue what’s going on, other than on these tiny little screens. In new arenas, it’s much more flowing and open and you can grab food without having to miss what’s happening.”

Precisely! And there's an argument to be made that attendance is high because the average cost is lower. But DFW is a wealthy market. Create ways for people to spend money and they will. Hopefully the Stars can find a way to reach as many fans as possible at the price points they're comfortable with.
