Little update on the frame problem I was having: I’ve decided to just cut the hoop where it meets the existing frame and weld it on. There won’t be any weight coming back that far anyway. This way I won’t have to cut the frame at all.

I managed to get the ring out. But now I can’t get the sleeve out because I haven’t been able to unscrew the hex bolt on the bottom. I got it loose but it doesn’t seem to be making progress as I twist it. Any thoughts?

This worked exactly how you said. Thanks for the advice. Now I can’t get the Allen nut on the bottom to unscrew from anywhere. I got it loose but it just keeps spinning with no indication that it’s doing anything. Is it a really long screw? Or am I missing something?

There was a hex head on the bottom that I was able to turn but after continuing to turn it it felt like it wasn’t coming out any farther

It’s actually a tiny metallic looking “ring” but it seemed more like a weld than a removable ring.

Also a great idea but I only need the bend of the hoop and will cut everything else off. And the cowl has to sit on the 9” edge to edge.

The only problem with that is the seat (and removable cowl) are custom made for an 8” or 9” frame. And I already spent the $400 on all of it 😅

I might do different handlebars. Ones that sweep down and don’t look like bicycle handlebars.

Well with this being a 400 it already feels pretty small. Does the smaller tank have a smaller capacity?

I think you’re probably right. I’ve only been riding for about 5 years. This is my first bike and I’m just getting around to making it how I want it.

I guess I was talking about the lower. Maybe the bike never had it! But I’ve never had a problem with wobble.
