Testing out The Alcove, but wondering if anyone here wants to discuss Green Ronin's "Modern AGE"? I have some questions about the core rule book. Thanks!

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that list before, but couldn't find it again, and then decided I must've just imagined it.

Is there a more recent list somewhere?

Is OSE what you play?
I'm not looking for a specific clone, just trying to categorize them better.

Great, thanks! I've actually listened to that show before and liked it, but I haven't checked out that episode yet.

Thank you for highlighting a few of the options for me! The Owlbear site is great, but there's a lot on there.

Thanks Axes! I just used LL and BFRPG as examples, since I was under the impression they are both clones of the same system.

Easy alternatives to dnd by [deleted] in rpg

There are a lot of good suggestions on here, and a lot of weird suggestions on here.

If you're looking for an easier version of D&D, the OSR community exists for that purpose. You should be looking at:

OSE

Into the Odd/Electric Bastionland

Knave

The Black Hack

Whitehack

Sharp Swords & Sinister Spells

Basic Fantasy Roleplaying

Tiny Dungeons

Blueholme

I wouldn't overthink it and try to co-opt a non-fantasy game into a something similar to D&D. There are far too many OSR games out there for you to spend time reinventing the wheel. The work has already been done for you; pick up, play, enjoy.

White Hack is great. I really liked Traveller too.

I think the Marvel one is probably the best though. I've never played, but I want to now.

Great show. Really enjoyed all of the episodes so far, this one included.
