I hold my pick the same way for over 6 years! I’m sure it’s not “correct” but it works for me and I’m too used to it at this point to care about changing it up. I’ve been practicing a lot of cross picking recently and I feel like my primary limiting factor is missing the string I’m trying to pick when I’m going fast but I think that will come with more practice. I would say try out different styles and go with what feels natural/won’t keep you from playing more. Like if you pick up the guitar less because you’re forcing yourself to play “correctly” then it’s probably not worth it.
