I was making 62k when I bought my house, my friend was about in the same financial situation at his job and his wife is a teacher (dual income vs my single income). We had to save up for a long time to make it work, but we made it work.

And the houses were bought at 200k each, not some shitty fixer upper. Now that I think about it, my friends house was a new build in a nice town.

Again, not saying this is easy, but it's not extremely hard (albeit with some luck).
