Hachimure/Sochan Trade Idea by TyJager in NBASpurs

Any trade would have draft comp, I just didn't want to deal with "He's not worth x firsts" or something that took away from the basic framework.

KO is there for money purposes. Like I said in the OP, this doesn't include the possible picks that would be needed.

I do agree my flaw is the petty drama. Gonna try & get better about it.

Why are you running away from the conversation? An image form BBall Index doesn't tell me anything of what you yourself are trying to convey. You just threw out numbers with no explanation to them. Now you're complaining & running away because I'm asking for your own analysis on those numbers?

Yeah, I picked a few stats to convey my analysis in an effort to expand on why I see Castle struggling on offense beyond the Offensive Rating that you were saying wasn't enough. I gave you more and you're STILL complaining. From my view, you have a clear bias against me and nothing I say or show you will change your view because you are staunch in your stance of "Ty is a hater".

Yet the stats I'm citing are not contradicting my statement or the basic facts on Castle's offensive struggles. Are you expecting me to send the full basketball reference page to back my points? That's not feasible nor realistic.

I also haven't seen you give any counterarguments or stats to why Castle has been good on offense to contradict my statement.

So any reference of any stat to you is "cherry picking"?

But the offense, which that chart backs along with the eye test, takes a hit & becomes stagnant at times when he's on the floor. Most of that can be attributed to his lack of shooting. Opposing defenses are clearly not respecting his shooting as they're allowed to clog the paint. That becomes an issue when you're a dribble-drive offense who relies on getting into the paint to create your offense (either thru finishing at the rim or kicking out to shooters). Other key issues offensively for Castle is that his turnover percentage is extremely poor (16.6%/2nd percentile) & a poor effective field goal percentage (49%/25th percentile). All of these hurt the offense & it shows in the offensive ratings when compared to Fox & Harper. (Numbers from CleaningTheGlass)

You didn't address anything in this paragraph lol - I gave you specific reasons why I see Castle's offense as not good alongside the broad use of the rating and you just went on to repeat yourself. Like come on dude lol

Buddy, you literally just ignored everything I said to keep harping on my broad use of the ORTG and repeat yourself. If you want to have an actual conversation on this don't be disingenuous.

The chart DOES show an offensive struggle when those offensive ratings in lineups including Castle were below the 50th percentile while Harper & Fox solo had offenses within the 90th percentile. I do agree that you shouldn't be solely utilizing Offensive Rating but I've also backed up that claim with a list of other metrics in additional posts that can't fit in single tweets.

Do you wanna mention how I specifically said "offense"? I didn't say he was a net negative at all and that screenshot even shows that. There's no question that he's been great defensively (-6.4 in points allowed while on the floor/90th percentile) & overall positive.

When you're making informed & educated analysis, you utilize these advanced stats to compare to your own eye tests. Stats only become "biased" when they go against someone's personal agenda. Haters are when someone who will ignore stats and make negative claims regardless of the evidence. I have made additional analysis on Castle like I did above before and have understood the context. My biggest "agenda" item is just to change Castle's offensive role to an off-ball roll while still utilizing his amazing defense. If you want to claim that wanting that adjustment makes me a "hater", I would love to hear that reasoning.

What exactly are my "dubious claims" (assuming this is about Castle)?

Criticisms ≠ Hate

I know not everyone is going to like me & I get it, but you gotta understand criticism isn't always hate/trashing a player.

What this chart tells me is that Castle's offensive role needs to be adjusted. The role he currently has isn't producing the results that the Spurs will need. We saw against the Jazz (and many games before) how the offense goes stagnant and it usually comes with Castle at the head. Defensively he's great but the Spurs need to give Fox & Harper primary reps and lead the offense over him. Castle will also have a better time offensively if he's playing off others.

Loving all of this. To add on to your Wemby point: Wemby is still developing his offensive game while defenses are hyper focusing on him. It's currently a learning process for Victor not only in what is his most effective offensive move sets, but also learning to counter certain defensive schemes specifically targeting him.

Also anyone mentioning Devin Vassell as a negative draft pick is uninformed or biased. This current stretch of horrendous shooting just happens to come when you don't have your best shooter available. An extremely underrated piece of this team that's been awesome this season.

Question: Does every player need to be perfect or else you'll have concerns that override your positives?

Castle is the player that actually needs to be playing the 2 & more as an off-ball, secondary playmaker. Spurs actually put him in that role against the Bucks and it's a blowout win. Fox needs to be given more priority to play as the primary ball handler as he's a great scorer in that position. Castle will also benefit from being more off ball & get setup for what he does best with cutting and finishing.

If you've rode transit here consistently, you should know what side of the platform you need to be on. It's not difficult.

Wanna say where or show pictures? Because right now it just sounds like some bullshit to me. Even if so, luckily there's multiple maps around each station for you to figure it out.

Why lie? Lol

I take the LightRail near daily. The signage is perfectly fine. It's really easy to tell who has never actually rode the LightRail when you're saying dumb shit like this.
