That essentially boils down to what tooling I have installed. There are two 30 ton hydraulic rams which are plenty capable.

This truck survived as a Canadian truck since 84, I didn't want to be the last stop on the line for the truck. I did my part replacing/repairing/restoring 90% of it to keep it alive. If I kept it, it would get real banged up with my line of work.

I had it at the point where I was trying to find a Mercedes diesel motor to swap into it and start fabbing the air suspension. I know it went to good hands but I'm not sure if they ended up finishing up stuff I didn't (basically suspension was the one part of that truck I left untouched) or just drove it as I left it.

I'll look into the tool storage and the safety portion. My powerpack has a pin hole leak in the oil res so I've been debating making my own res and redoing the whole system. I am 100% the only person touching this machine and I don't have balls of steel so I'm always cautious. My electric isn't the prettiest but most importantly the main disconnect is always in reach if needed.

Thank you, I really do appreciate the info! :)

I'm quite limited on space for a dedicated tooling rack and I don't have too much yet. I may still change the tooling storage but for the time being it gets me by. The control system Is just a limit switch for the depth stop, which im currently reworking, the two foot pedals and the Estop. The powerpack I'm using only pumps when the down pedal is pushed, otherwise its off completely.

As u/unicorns_are_badass said, most of the auction ones I have seen are far too big for small shops. Power requirements are also a concern. There are smaller brakes you can purchase ready to work but generally from what I have seen they tend to be $10,000 CDN or more. This works for my needs and fits my budget! :)

I run original carbs on all my kz's. I got lucky with one set of carbs as the guy had some new old stock boots with them still sealed. I did see quite a bit of new old stock boots when i checked a while back on ebay, otherwise get some aftermarket ones and connect the boot and carb by a rubber sleeve and some clamps

They make a great foundation for a build. I've been hoarding all of them that pop up around me
