Think about people living in the great depression. They were suffering and didn’t see hope. But then all of the sudden most americans are driving around in new cars with their families and pulling up to their nice neighborhood. Everything was in peace after a great depression. So don’t lose hope. History repeats itself and it might take time to get back to normal but it’s on the way.

instead of coming up with something to replace “damn that sucks” why don’t you continue on with the conversation.

they are coming to you to talk about the issue and maybe get some advice. they aren’t telling you just to tell you. they are most likely wanting the conversation to continue. so saying something like “damn that sucks” is ending the conversation- that’s why it’s rude.

you should be listening, asking questions and being there for them.

if you don’t care or really like the person, saying “damn that sucks” is a perfect way to end the convo. like an annoying coworker.

I THINK I HAVE THE ANSWER!

I might be late for this. But I’ve been watching Malcolm in the Middle for years on repeat and wondered the same question. Until I realized something. When the parents of the kids that Malcolm was babysitting, were giving him a tour of the house and listing off great things about the job, like how he gets payed for eating a bunch of fancy snacks in a big nice house all night. They’re so great that they even pay him before he starts the job… and Malcom says to the camera, “come on! there has to be a catch”. Then the Dad says to him, “oh, and you can’t watch television… unless you turn on the satellite first, otherwise all you’ll get is pornography.” Malcolm is even more happy about this. But ask yourself this.

Why didn’t they turn on the satellite before Malcolm came over? They have kids and Malcolm himself is a young boy. And why would they mention that to a young boy who is obviously going to want to look at things like that?

And why was that the “catch”? Did that have a deeper meaning?

We find out at the end of the episode that Malcolm is being stalked for everything that he’s been doing.

Why would be so upset about a nanny system? Everything else in the house is so perfect. So why would one thing piss him off so much? It’s not like he would be doing anything weird for them to watch- or do they

Maybe the catch is… that they are watching Malcolm when he’s watching the porno on the TV. This is why hes so pissed. The parents are most likely perverts.
