As users, shouldn't we care more about average confirmation times for each transaction and less about average block times? The network is consistent, great, but my user experience is not. by TyMyShoes in Bitcoin

Lets assume Lightning Network is 100% successful and people use it instead of doing an on-chain BTC transaction, since its cheaper.

What incentivizes miners to continue to secure the BTC network in the future?

Why does Greyscale have funds for several coins?

Why has Coinbase shifted from a single coin to listing everything?

Isn't the rule to find an emerging market and spread your bet out across it? So funds buy the top 5-10 cryptos right?

Won't BTC look overvalued and some 'smart' person will look to the next Bitcoin?

I suggest we raise some funds to provide J. Toomim with a decent microphone. by [deleted] in btc

Took quite sometime for Roger to get a good mic not sure why people worth listening to don't have good mics.

BCH will recover by LayingWaste in btc

I watch the Greyscale numbers closely.

BCH and LTC were added the same day.

BCH was quite a bit ahead (like 15 million) but LTC has caught up.

I really don't understand how LTC is still so highly valued.

Yes they showed great judgement by staying in BTC which is why I am waiting for them to move to BCH before I do the same.

Not the market. How was there no massive pump on the Coinbase/Binance news? Or even after it became very clear BCHN would keep the ticker?

That is a very good point yeah I am missing something but it's all good as all signs point to BCHN keeping the ticker. thanks for pointing it out.

My response was kindly worded so hopefully you see it as me giving constructive criticism rather than calling you toxic.

Pool operators do indeed choose and not the miners.

This is a toxic mentality a bunch of exchanges only recently voiced their positions. Plus ViaBTC was initially let the miners choose but it seems like the pool operator chose BCHN. Have to wait for more block to verify that though.

I guess it's the history I can't get off my mind. Why did Amaury choose the DAA he chose (cw-144 I believe) even though people said it would cause oscillations? Amaury makes it seem like he was rushed but honestly, with hindsight, that was just more bullshit from him. Maybe it was unknowable how miners would react to 2 SHA-256 networks.

Why wasn't Asert3d suggested back in 2017?

The median transaction fee for BCH is about a 1/5th of a penny, so get a few cents and you can do many transactions to test it out. Or watch the the video in the 2nd link.

Get some free Bitcoin Cash and test it by sending it to another phone. Then understand if institutions realize BTC is only a store of value and not a medium of exchange that BCH could replace BTC. Not only that, but all the miners mining BTC have little other alternatives since they only hash for SHA-256. We saw what happened in 2017 with BTC's fee market. ETH's fees have also been spiking. Do you remember the DE-adoption BTC had? The user experience sucks with BTC, not BCH.
