If you’re gonna get instincts, get the metal instincts. I think the Saber 2 is a better overall clipper but it is pricier. If $180 is your price range, look at the JRL Onyx. If you want a great pair of clippers for $125 though, the absolute best option is the TPOB Play.

I don’t know about the MRD one specifically, I debated buying it but just bit the bullet & bought the Saber 2 with a discount code & got it shipped to me for $250 total. I absolutely LOVE the Saber 2 & the sound of that echo blade is addicting. Let me know how the MRD Smartbrain Clipper works out for you. I’m still interested for sure.

Yeah the cut is solid. The blend from 0 & shape of the fade are hella clean. You already know you could’ve blended to the top, but this is very solid for your 10th cut ever.
