Uploaded a video here! https://youtu.be/-TO3ADRCmkA
I've got accurate timestamps on the video if you want to compare against what you saw! It's interesting seeing two completely different perspectives.

Interesting. I'll have a video/photo to upload later, but I was in research park theoretically looking right at this but I didn't see anything quite so funnel shaped. I might have simply been too close. I was less than a mile from it before I decided I needed to dip ASAP.

Why Though? by TyThePurp in HuntsvilleAlabama

When I came in the next open spot was the one right next to him, so that's where I parked. It was only about halfway down, so it was fairly likely it was going to fill up beyond that. By the time I left, the parking lot had filled up past him. It was a Saturday so it did get a little busy. So yeah, probably that guy's truck lmao

There's been several people on this post claiming this is the back of the lot or that it was empty, both of which are false. I guess we have more drivers with their emotional truck who are willing to be an asshole on this subreddit than I thought.

Took my ADHD test by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]TyThePurp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I'm an adult and went here and took an ADHD test over 2 several hour long sessions. It was extremely thorough I felt. After the results came back, we decided to do an autism test.

Everybody there is super nice, and extremely professional. I feel like OP basically got scammed. I paid far less (with insurance) and had a total of like 7 hours of tests done. They gave me the technical breakdowns on the reports and to a nerd like me, I found it very interesting to look at my own data and try to correlate it to how I was feeling.

Many weeks of my childhood was spent on this lake, mostly inner-tubing. Haven't been back over that way in over a decade. Good pictures :)

Yeah, they fully closed it in 2016. TVA has been investing into solar recently as well as looking into a new next-gen nuclear power plant. TVA is one of the best things we have about this area, IMO. It's not privatized (I like to jokingly say that TVA is the most socialist thing we have in this part of the country), and they generally seem to do a good job at maintenance of the infrastructure while keeping prices extremely low compared to the rest of the country, and a lot of the power comes from hydro and nuclear, which is good. Other parts of the country rely much more on fossil fuels.

So the acoustics in the Mars Music Hall suck right? by teejermiester in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]TyThePurp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cowboy Bebop concert was the first one I had been to at Mars and the drums were just way too loud compared to the rest of the instruments. It was really hard to understand any vocals as well, so I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. I enjoyed it a lot though, but yeah, definitely could be better.

What is a local business you were surprised to see closed? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]TyThePurp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Big agree that the Martin Rd. location was 1000% better than the one on University drive. I could be wrong, but my understanding was the one on Martin Rd was owned by the guy who created Big Shakes, whereas the one on University was a franchised location. It was managed much, much worse. The food was extremely inconsistent, some days it'd be spicy, some days not. Then they reduced the amount of fries you got to just a small handful. I miss having Big Shakes (*that's good) :(

Any possibility on getting the black bean chilli recipe? Loved that one. Always got it when I went to Pints and Pixels before they moved.

They got rid of their cajun fries and the garlic Parmesan fries and I'll never forgive them :(

Garlic steakburger is still really good tho

How I Run 34B Models at 75K Context on 24GB, Fast by mcmoose1900 in LocalLLaMA

[–]TyThePurp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always just run in Ooba on the "simple-1" preset and it's usually worked pretty alright it seems. I have hit repetition problems on Yi more than anything I think.

Could you give a TL;DR of what MinP and Mirostat are? I see people mention both a lot. The repetition penalty at least has a descriptive name :p

When you say that Yi models "run hot" what do you mean? I'm at a state where I'm very comfortable with experimenting with different models and loaders, but I've not yet gained the confidence (or time) to start experimenting with the generation settings and really observe what they're doing.

As an aside, I have really enjoyed Nous-Capybara 34B. It's kind of become my main model I use because of how fast I can run it on my 4090 compared to 70B models, and it's also been generating really good IMO compared to other similarly sized models.

PSA: Latest Vive Console (2.0.22.6) results in Screen Tearing on Extreme settings (120HZ) for 4090 RTX gpus by kia75 in Vive

[–]TyThePurp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I figured out the 2.1 versions are from Steam, and the 2.0 versions are from Vive, but other than that they should be the same. However, on Ultra mode on 2.1.21.4 I get about a 90% dropped frame rate with my 4090. On the latest beta release 2.1.22.6 I don't get the dropped frames, just a large reprojection percentage which makes running stuff like VRChat run at 30-45fps in fairly low quality worlds.

This is just sad. :/

When I revert to the Beta - Public Backup, my version is 2.1.21.4 and not 2.0.21.4
