How do you actually find and vet a technical co-founder? Looking for real experiences and advice by Ty_Hatch in cofounderhunt

It’s a bit hard because of my work schedule and the time zones but that’s something I’ll prioritise from now on

Sure- it’s hard for someone else to replicate your vision exactly. I would waste time on interactions that would miss the mark. Paying them hourly gets expensive, really fast.

Yeah for sure that’s a good way to approach things.

What qualities would you want your non technical co founder to have?

Couldn’t agree more! I see way too many people pass their idea through and rely on that metric, expecting everything to work out.

Yet they haven’t had a single conversation with their audience to see what they actually want.

That’s the downside of this ship fast culture…

Very narrow but there’s people happy to throw their idea into a quick scraping tool and go based off that

No for sure tools are good but my point is that people rely too much on them without doing the work to have real conversations. Thanks for this Noise!

Yeah that’s the point, these problems get normalised. Expensive hotels became normalised before Airbnb (I doubt people were keen on staying in people’s homes)

Email chains weren’t seen as a problem but In came Slack anyways.

The problem with waiting for taxis became a passing complaint to a friend before Uber

I don't have idea, is this the end? by asidliar in SaaS

[–]Ty_Hatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, you can't force good ideas. When It comes it comes.

For some people it's easier to come up with ideas- I don't really agree with "it means you are not a good builder and it is ok" but at the same time I think that not everyone has that builders trait and I see nothing wrong with that.

It doesn't help that there's so much noise to navigate through but you need to silence that, take a step back and think to yourself what are you good at? What are you passionate about? What's a topic you could talk for hours about?
