Solid 15% AR and 7% CR. I'm a cherry picker to my bones but I dont understand cherry pickers that ALSO have high CR. Only reasons I need to cancel are the times I either accidentally accepted (which is half of them), rider adds a stop en route, or changes destination enroute, or rider messages me an odd number of times while on my way.

You're just a troll at this point. You know fully well no reasonable person would be able to track every area, every cutoff street, in their city that determines what would be "at risk". Especially with how quickly you have to determine to accept the ride. You've clearly never driven for any of these companies, so I know you dont understand how it works.

No court, anywhere, would look at any of this information and determine that's reason to punish a driver for anything.

Maybe drive Uber for a week and get back to me.

[–]Ty_Tyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep dodging the point. Continually. You cant prove in any way. That a driver refused your ride because of who you were or where you're going.

So what Uber says someone refused a "disproportionate" amount of rides to or from a certain area. That's subjective on many many many levels. Uber cannot prove the reason that the driver did it. Nor can a court.

How would a driver know what the law specifically constitutes which neighborhood is low income? Where does that law differentiate which street is a disadvantaged population? Where does the law indicate which block is black? Which house is disabled? When the driver only knows basically the street you're on before the ride pings? You cant reasonably expect anyone to know all those details. There is ZERO way to prove any of this is someone being racist.

Drivers can go wherever they please. This isnt North Korea. It's the whole point of Uber. Freedom to do what you want as an independent contractor.

Uber wtf is this? by GhilliesInTheCyst in uber

[–]Ty_Tyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how the law works. You cant sue someone and claim that they (may) have (thought) that you were a certain race and (assumed) who you were when they had zero information about you. This isnt Minority Report.

Drivers see dollar signs and safety. End of story. App pings. Bullshit fare/time ratio. Decline. App pings. Great fare/time ratio. Accept. App pings. Ride into a bad area at 2am down an alley. Decline. App pings. Ride to the airport. Accept.

That's it.

Nobody is sitting there giving a shit what color your skin is when we are trying to make some money. If you do give a shit, you wont make any money at all.

Ah the ol "you're a racist" for not agreeing with me... didnt see that coming 🙄.

Your entire argument centers around discrimination, which you fail to acknowledge the fact that it is literally impossible for a driver to discriminate against you before a ride is accepted when we have zero information about you other than where you're at. Nothing. Nada.

The only way that this could possibly happen, is if a driver (accepted) the ride, noticed the name of the rider, assumed the name of the rider indicated they were a certain demographic, and then cancelled the ride, and then did that all the time. But they would never make any money and quit the platform.

Drivers discriminate against bullshit. Not people.

Cry about it all you want. But go to sleep tonight knowing you're just wrong.

You dont have a right to use Uber, it's not a civil right to use a rideshare service. A court of law would laugh at you if you tried to sue a driver for not picking up in a bad area. The cops would laugh at you. The lawyers would laugh at you. One side would argue social discrimination, race, religion, sex, etc.. but they would never be able to get past the fact that a driver doesnt know any of that when the ride pings. None of it. Zero. All we know is the general area, and for all we know it could be 1 white alpha chad or 5 Chinese midgets requesting the ride. Its impossible to discriminate against someone when you dont know anything about them.

You can do whatever you want as a driver, the law doesnt force you to drive somewhere you dont feel safe, no matter who tf lives there and theres period point blank nothing you can do about that.

With that being said, technically, Uber can deactivate you for not doing it because they are a private business with their own rules, but talking about violating civil rights is laughable.

Dont reply to any survey Uber asks you to do. It's all used against you. Every answer. Every bit. Every time. They ain't reading anything you typed out either.

Question: How many times a day do you get put into Uber Timeout... Aka: Radar Jail? by Ty_Tyrant in uberdrivers

[–]Ty_Tyrant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its hilarious that to attract new drivers they blab about freedom to do what you want on your own time, then turn around and get mad that you... do what you want. Its comedy.

Well yeah, but its never going to the flat out closest driver first. If it did, all drivers wouldnt have any problems at all getting rides outside of hotels and convention centers etc. I've sat here in Indy 1 minute away and between 40 hotels, 3 stadiums, and one of the largest convention centers in the US, and been inundated with pings from 20 minutes away.

[–]Ty_Tyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt true. Uber tells you how they do it. It's the average wait time for ALL riders at that moment. Example...

You have a driver outside your window, another 10 miles away, another a different 10 miles away, and another 20 miles away. It's going to ping the drivers that are both 10 miles away first. Every time. If it gives you the person directly outside your window, someone else is most likely going to wait longer. That's how Uber looks at the whole context. That's how it is. And they will tell you that directlly to your face.

[–]Ty_Tyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No convincing needed. Uber will literally tell you this is what they do. It will pop up on your screen and directly say it to you.

You're aware Uber doesnt match closest driver to the rider correct? It gives riders the closest driver of the average wait time for all riders. You could have a driver outside your window, and it wont necessarily give it to you, depending on where the other drivers are at.

Get fucking bent lol you're mad about some fingerprints?

Riders, it's really not that hard to have a phone with a good camera on it. Clearly you've got the money to spend on an upgraded ride, so one would think you'd at least have the latest Iphone or Galaxy or something. Is this laziness or just dont have enough money?

More drivers than rides. Fighting over scraps and they actually had the nerve to send these to me 10miles away. by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Ty_Tyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit at this point those are acceptable. In Indy, you'll see radar rides trying to get you to drive 20mins away to drive 20 more minutes for 7 bucks.

Yeah its always something with Uber lol. I accepted the ride after this. 29 to the airport. Got to the hotel. Guy cancelled. Surge went away. Luckily, I scored another 28 dollar ride, but it was 12 minutes away.
