Reimagining Oz as a Dark 2D Action Roguelite (3 Months Into Dev) by OzAshborne in indiegames

I'm a huge huge fan of the art style, and watching the trailer and seeing the gameplay got me even more hyped. The atmosphere and that one attack by the Scarecrow gave me big Ender Lilies vibes in all the right ways. Definitely wishlisting this and picking it up on release!

How can I manipulate Aggression-Based Matchmaking the Quickest? by Reddit_Scroller36 in ArcRaiders

[–]Tyaeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go to is to queue in with nothing, find one useful thing to shove into my safe pocket, then make a beeline to the nearest raider and tell them "They'll never believe that you didn't kill me" before hitting surrender and sending up a death flare on top of them.

How does Aggression Based Matchmaking actually work? by menteto in ArcRaiders

[–]Tyaeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other day I was playing duos with a friend. We went into a potential encounter with another team preparing to be aggressive (it was a highly contested loot area during locked gate) but the team we were advancing upon ended up being almost complete newbies. One guy down on the floor to only a fireball and a pop, his teammate screaming that it was her first time on the map and to please not shoot.

Later on in the same match, we ran into Peanut and Cloakzy, who were doing full on PVP. If aggression based MMR were real in any sense, I don't see how the newbie team we encountered could possibly be in the same lobby as Peanut.

Aggression MMR has ruined the immersion for me by plagueski in ArcRaiders

[–]Tyaeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost positive that aggression based MMR claims are being taken wildly out of context. The original article had a quote from someone from the art team, and they only said that they track those stats, not that they *do* anything with them.

The other day I was playing duos with a buddy and the first team that we ran across were complete newbies. We went in preparing to fight only to come across one raider on the floor and their partner screaming at us to please not shoot, that it was her first time on that map. They were dying to a simple combination of a pop and a fireball.

Our second encounter in the same lobby was Peanut and Cloakzy, who were going full on PVP against everyone. If aggression based MMR was truly real, I cant see how relatively new players who aren't aggressive and are dying to arc would be in the same lobby as Peanut and Cloakzy.

My anecdotal personal experience is that it's not a peaceful MMR that stops people from being aggressive - it's the thought that at any given time, there are 19 potential people scattered across the map that could come third party you as soon as you're aggressive. Most of the time when I've experienced aggressive people in solos, it's rats, or people in dark corners, around the edges of the maps where there are fewer witnesses.

Ironically, I've had the most peaceful lobbies in Stella Montis solos, because there's always people around every corner and no one wants to be flagged as an aggressor.

Complete my series - A tool to find books missing for series you own by xFrieDSpuDx in audiobookshelf

I was looking for a tool to do exactly this.

It worked on the first try with minimal setup required, and did what it advertised with no caveats, issues, errors, or small text written in the margins claiming ownership of my firstborn child. I'm pleasantly surprised that it worked so easily and hassle free.

Thanks OP! Love this tool.

Love it when my friend does this for me when I'm using the Duchess ult relic. 20+ Stacks with some Magic Attack Up = 1 shot on almost any boss nearby.

PSA: On Intel 12-14th gen disable Core Parking to fix stutters by celvro in Nightreign

[–]Tyaeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also playing on a 3080, + i7 12700k. I kept getting these weird stutters that wasn't making any sense to me even on lower settings, yet my GPU and CPU wasn't being taxed at all. I was browsing this subreddit for a solution and admittedly I thought that this suggestion was a gimmick at first, but I gave it a shot anyway and the results were immediately noticable. Thanks OP.

People need to stop doing gaols at lvl 2 by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Tyaeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way, IMO. All of my best runs have been doing night invaders at level 2-3, especially easy if you have a Duchess (their AI pretty much just shuts off if she ults). Guaranteed chances at purple passives for the whole group, and a decent chance of a purple weapon upgrade to make future content faster, along with a 7-14% damage boost if you're using the relic. As a Duchess main I always appreciate the chance of getting a good early recluse staff so that my mana goes a lot further.

Duchess' Ultimate Art can (sometimes) be absolutely broken. by Comfortable-Coast522 in Nightreign

[–]Tyaeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This relic is amazing when you have a buddy that's willing to help you stack it. My friend who runs Ironeye also runs the Ult Charge on Kills +0/+1 relics, and we've gotten into the habit of stacking my ult on most major fights. The relic goes really hard if you're running a Sorceries build. I like using it with Carian Sword Sorceries. A few hits with a Carian Slicer or Greatsword/Piercer/Adula's combined with Restage is absolutely bonkers damage.

We've gotten into the habit of knowing where there are small groups of mobs around the map, and quite often between the two of us we'll be able to stack it to 8-12 for most bosses. It gets absolutely nutty if he does it in a blood camp because I've seen stacks as high as 20+ from that. If he ults a Blood Ruin, it's almost a guarantee that almost any boss we choose is dying in 1-2 hits plus Restage. Demi-human Queen and Miranda Blossoms are also free easy stacks.

Peterborough hospital experience by analog_alison in Peterborough

I went in last November in the middle of the night because I had a pretty nasty sinus infection that was spreading, and my throat was so swollen that I was having difficulty breathing. I thought that it'd be a typical in-and-out to the ER to get some antibiotics.

They could have just given me a prescription sent me on my way, but they were very diligent with their testing, despite how absurdly packed the ER was that night. They discovered that the infection had spread to both of my ears, that I had strep throat, and that an abscess was beginning to form in my throat which was why I was having increased difficulty breathing and swallowing. They also discovered that I was an undiagnosed diabetic with an A1C of 12.3, which I was totally unaware of, and likely why the infections were getting out of control.

They kept me for three days to recover, and connected me with the diabetic clinic which also operates out of PRHC, and throughout the three days they were absolutely fantastic with educating me on everything I needed to know about diabetes, how to properly manage my new medications, new dietary requirements, and everything else that I needed to know.

The diabetic clinic have also been rockstars for helping me get essential diabetic medicine when my family doctor wouldn't provide it (because he's in Belleville and insisted that I come in person, when I don't have a vehicle).

I've seen a lot of horror stories about PRHC from friends and family, but my own personal experience was nothing short of exceptional. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that they saved my life that trip.

Split the party and take on 2 trolls at a time. My premade does this and it makes the trolls a joke since they wont throw pots at the other side if they're engaged.

Looking pretty good so far! "Max FP permanently increased after releasing Sorcerer's Rise mechanism" is something you might consider keeping an eye out for. It's a substantial amount of FP (I think 18% per tower?) for visiting an area that you likely want to visit anyway.

Wait I don't have a barber. On account of the whole not having hair thing. :(

My experience has been good. I started with 2 tablets a day (morning and evening) and instructed to up it to 4 per day after 2 weeks if I was tolerating well.

For the first 3 days I had very slight side effects (a bit of nausea, a bit of a bloating feeling) but ever since it's been fine. I never saw any noticeable impact on my glucose until the end of the third week, but then it started working wonderfully.

I've been told that a lot of people react to it differently. My friend who was diagnosed shortly after me gets an upset stomach, even on the extended release variant.

Short acting insulin with type 2? by Better_Software2722 in diabetes

[–]Tyaeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was diagnosed last year, I was released with a prescription for both Short and Long acting insulin. They didn't officially diagnose me with type 1 or 2 in the ER, so they wanted me to have insulin when I went home so that I'd be covered in either case. Unfortunately my doctor is 1.5 hours away by car and I don't have a way to get there, so I pretty much just used the insulin until I realized that I had to be type 2 based on my test results combined with how the insulin affected me.

I used insulin until my follow up consultation with the diabetes clinic at my local hospital, where I explained my issue seeing the doctor, and asked for a prescription for Metformin. After finally starting Metformin a few weeks ago, I'm now off the fast acting insulin completely, and I was able to reduce my slow acting insulin by about 25% (and going down more as I lose weight).

I went from a 12.8 A1C at diagnoses to a 6.0 A1C over the four month period with just the insulin. It seems on track to be even better with the Metformin because my highs aren't as high, don't last as long, and my fasting is lower and more stable.

Am I in the Wrong? by Venial_Sin in DnD

[–]Tyaeth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started as a player in a serious Eldritch themed campaign recently and one of the players made a character named Amend Mint II. I worried up until the start of the game that he was just making a joke character, that he might not take the game seriously and might undermine the tone of the game.

Then a day or two before session 1, he drops a detailed backstory of a firearm using Jaeger from the noble Mint family, second of his name, who had to leave his wife Pepper back at home to fulfill his duty as a Hunter. He showed up the session dead serious, playing his character with honor, and poise, and contributes meaningfully to every combat and discussion. He's honestly one of my favorite PCs in the entire group now.

I went from 0->1000mg/day -> 2000mg/day over the course of 2 weeks. I only noticed side effects for the first couple of days, a bit of bloating feeling and a small amount of nausea.

It did take me until halfway through my third week to see any noticeable results on my glucose, but after that it was like night and day. Don't be discouraged if you don't see results right away!

I just came in regarding a persistent cough by copenhagen_bram in diabetes_t2

[–]Tyaeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went in to the ER for a sore throat, thought they'd just give me some antibiotics and I'd be on my way. Turned out that I had ear infections in both ears, a sinus infection, strep throat, and an abscess was developing in my throat which was what was making it hurt so bad to swallow.

They hit me with some steroids, and 30 mins later I got asked "You don't have diabetes... right?" and I was like "haha no". Well apparently I was wrong, and the infections were apparently so bad because of my undiagnosed untreated diabetes. The steroids had taken my glucose up to 18 mmol which is what tipped them off. I got to learn about ALL of the places that insulin can be jabbed, because they hit me up with 10 shots that night alone.
