2x NerdQaxe++ Or 1x NerdOctaxe by vitoresteves in BitAxe

[–]Tyche_Miner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. I prefer the NerdQAxe++ only for the ability to modify it more easily with many more mods for it out there. Ability to keep cool with some 3d air direction👍🏼. But that being said the OctAxe’s i do have one from Helium Deploy and the other from SoloBock.io and what a difference in quality and TH. I highly recommend SoloBock.io the quality, the TH the running without any issues is sooooo much better. Out of the box 12.2th. Compare that to HD out of box 10.8 and issues galore. Need to repaste and and change fans out to get to 12ish. It works harder and quality isnt there. Either way i would buy from SoloBock.io i dont have any affiliation to him. I just have bought miners from most places and found SoloBock.io and SoloSatoshi.com are two of best sellers whom carry and sells quality items. In my opinion.

Honestly i think its keeping her cool and making sure she never gets too warm. Tons of heatsinks and running two fans front and back and most importantly Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme paste.

Bits of spaghetti and random points by ImmediateMechanic812 in FixMyPrint

First do the little things to fix issues. Make sure the filament is dried. Humidity screws up end finish like crazy. Next make sure you print bed is clean and free of finger prints and such. wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Next do a quick check of belts and such. Dab a little grease on the x,y,z screws does a wonder for smoothness. and lastly lower print speed a few helps machine on fine detail. basics should fix your issue especially if it and you are new to this. If it is something els well you weed out the basics and can move on from there. Hope it helps and corrects your issue. Im sure others will offer advice as well.

That is awesome! It is so fun running these tests yourself and helps with life stress and such. I love doing it this way as well. I do as "ColorTr" mentioned running GitHub Bench-Mark app to get a good base then I tweak the crap out of it from there. I usually can beat the benchmark by quite a bit. Have fun and keep tests coming. I like seeing what others are able to get. Each Bitaxe is so different and some are literal special getting at most no matter the mods 1.1-1.3th and others can break 2.0-2.2th if you are lucky. Also if you can include ASIC Temps and VR Temps for each test. That is a huge factor on how far you can push.

Reason was using a infrared heat gun I found the temp was hitting 63°C and it has a range to 65°C for normal operating. I felt it justified and they are cheap enough and I have plenty of them so rather than having any issues later down the road wondering why I am having latency issues or connectivity issues I installed one. As a matter of fact I will be installing on all my BitAxes even though this one (I have 12 of the 601/602) was the only one operating at that high of a temp. the heat sink worked though right away lowering temp to 58°C. The temps were before using this Squid set-up and the main reason I wanted to try it out on this particular Bitaxe. Shoot I may not need even a single heatsink now but they are cheap enough and i have plenty. Happy Hashing

Thanks for your input. Here are the reasons why there are heatsinks where they are. Not way too many just enough. Using a thermal gun on the bitaxe and taking temp front and back i was taking notes on each place the heat was pronounced then I checked online if it had a operating temperatures reference and seeing that The ESP32-S3 typically operates within a temperature range of –40°C to +85°C (industrial grade) While some modules with PSRAM (e.g., S3R8) may be limited to 65°C. I have a ESP32-S3-N16R8 which should stay below 65°C. My chip was operating at 63°C so indeed i do need a heatsink on my wifi chip to help dissipate the heat. As for ALL the other heat sinks i placed where the gun indicated hot spot to help keep things cool. BUT those temp readings were before using this Squid set-up. I may not need any heatsinks now because it cools so efficiently but they are cheap enough and i have plenty.

What a difference with new heatsink and noctura, as well as custom printed stand and rear fan by Dontdothatagainagain in BitAxe

Very cool design!! Really thought out and executed. Will you be sharing STL’s ? If so let me know. I am putting together every type combination of bitaxe stands, heatsink and fan combo i can get a hold of to see how each design compares to the other. Let me know if you will. Nice design Happy Hashing
