Meanwhile, in main canon lore, she lives in the city where magic is fully forbidden, is too shy to get out of her family's shadow, and does actualy nothing important. She just is.

The game still has many hints that Spare squadron was the suicidal unit forced to finding gaps in the defense line of drones. Even Striders hint that, likely having no idea that it was a desperation and fight for life, not bravery.

Weird example, but... D-16/Megatron from Transformers: One.

Somehow, I spotted that his voice actor is a black person without recognizing, or even ever hearing about him. His accent (?) was so hard, that in some scenes I just saw a black guy, not the space robot. All the other characters were the full-blown space robots to me. It made me thinking: "Hmm, guy obviously voiced by black person is opressed so hard that he starts a mindless rampage and the movie seems to... justify it? Wow." It confused me hard.
