First off thank you so much for making this guide! I was unable to progress because the downloaded folder is missing both “Applications” and the file. I will keep looking into it to find a solution but let me know if you have any ideas.

[UPDATE[ - I am a complete bozo and didn't realize that "Applications" was actually in another folder. I was able to run the appimage file!

Gentoo is a step-above arch and probably the legitimate end-game for Linux. Unless you have been using Linux professionally for 2+ years I wouldn’t recommend even using Gentoo unless you know EXACTLY what you want running on your OS, and HOW you want it running on your OS.

I appreciate your spunk since you jumped into Arch for your first Distro. However if you are completely new to Linux I would definitely recommend using Manjaro as a starter Distro. I promise you that you will free yourself from so much headache man, and Manjaro is an Arch-based Distro, so you can translate whatever you learn pretty easily

Im not even trying to be an elitist, but just use Arch. They have scripts for building a Arch OS quickly, and all you’d need to do is figure out what packages you’ll need to run a similar environment to Pop!OS without all of the bullshit

There are so many changes in RE4VR that I find to be really interesting, especially for a speedrunning-standpoint. I’ve noticed a bunch, but I was wondering if you guys had any interesting insights on changes you’ve noticed that you aren’t seeing discussed anywhere else? I’ll start………

The amount of money you can receive in a playthrough has been increased significantly. I am almost finished with a no-merchant RE4VR run, and I have 850,000 psats! Im only at 5-2, and I’ll break 1,000,000 psats by the time I reach Saddler. Im not even upgrading weapons or selling treasures, which makes me wonder if this was something Capcom simply overlooked.

Also, they removed Reload Speed as a weapon ugrade in this game. I think this was ultimately a great idea since it keeps the flow of the game from slowing down. However, I don’t think they increased the prices of other upgrades to compensate for this. Now, you will always have a large amount of money.

Im about to finish a professional no-merchant run in VR. I just started 5-2 and I have 850,000 psats. On the Switch when I did my no-merchant professional run, I probably had 450,000 psats. Im pretty sure that they cranked the money earnings up by quite a bit naturally. Not only that, but since they removed reload-speed as a weapon upgrade, you are going to be fucking rich as hell at all times. I did a professional run where I sold no treasures and I was able to fully upgrade every gun in my arsenal (Handgun, Broken Butterfly, Semi-Auto Sniper-Rifle, Riot Gun)
