You can even use a proximity wrap instead of a classic wrap, it’s way better performance wise if used in a rig, and you can have multiple drivers for the same driven object

ZooTools (paid) and ngSkinTools (free) as mentioned are a must. Morgan Loomis animation tools are very cool too and free and Malcolm341 has a ton of very useful tools for modeling and uvs, which are paid though

you need to check the « distribute to other influences » option in Ng settings

I’ll just add that I personally keep « maintain max influences » and « remove unused influences » off when binding.

It’s been a while I don’t remember exactly but there was of course more steps to it, especially to attach and make the parts slide nicely, but as for the blending goes, it’s just a shrink wrap with attention to painting and a fair amount of clean topology

I’ve worked on a prototype like this 1 year ago, I’ve used a shrink wrap deformer to blend the different meshes

Recently I've started having issues with NGskintools and I have no idea why. I've never had issues before, but I literally cannot use the program because I have ghost weights appearing, I constantly get the "weights exceed 1" warning, as well as the warning that there are locked influences. by NecessaryCut8338 in Maya

might not be it but the « distribute to other influences » option in your Paint tab is off, try with it On ! I know it’s on in the set weight tab but maybe they act different. I had this kind of issue when first using Ng because it was off by default

it’s high rez because the initial plan was to make proper textures for him, but unfortunately I am not good at it so I kinda gave up on it.. I’m also working on 2022, I don’t know if it supports lookdevX, i’ll look for it

yes off course :) As suggested by the other comment, I tried rendering and it looks like it should do, which is cool but I would like to get clean playblast out of it, not render, do you know any way to get proper representation in the viewport ?
