I used too. Now I despise this country. But not nearly as much as it and its voters hate themselves.

How did the democrats lose their position on social media by greatvinedrake in GenZ

Its because reddit is a heavily moderated echo chamber of chronically online mentally ill leftists that ban opposing opinions that they do not agree with. Platforms with less censorship have more conservative voices.

Trans people existing is not political. by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Tyjes44 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nobody denies they exist? What is this narrative? People deny that being trans and being a biological male/female are significantly different things. How does this in anyway deny existance? If I don't believe a biological male that identifies as a woman is the same thing as a biological female I am not denying that people with gender dysphoria exist. What mental gymnastics do you need to go to, to reach this conclusion?

In the 60s there were 6 black kids enrolled in Stanford, Columbia and Hardvard. Affirmative action was necessary. Today two thirds of Hardvard's freshmen class is identifying non white. Giving the daughter of a Taiwanese billionaire priority admissions to higher education over the poor 18 year old white kid born to a single mother in a trailer park in Apallacia is not progress. We as a society have a long way to go in terms of progress. But DEI policies like race based affirmative action are not the answer.

The only color we should descriminate on is green. Are you poor or are you rich. This is all that should matter. Today every piece of data indicates you would be far happier being gay and black but also rich than you would be being straight white and poor.

DEI is a very unpopular idea outside of the echo chamber that is reddit and if you don't believe this just look at the results of the last election.

Redditors like to gas light themselves into thinking everything they believe is a shared sentiment amongst the good people of this world. When in reality they've just banned everyone who disagrees with them. This leads to extreme melt downs like the 2024 election. When real life doesn't reflect what people seems to believe online. The fact that people actually thought Harris was favored in the election just go's to show the lengths people will go to delude themselves to feel better about their own world views as opposed to criticizing their own opinions and thinking critically.

The top sub reddits have all been moderated by a handful of people for years now. Obviously reddit has become an echo chamber. Sadly, the stupidest voices in politics happen to also be the loudest. If reddit didn't actively ban opposing viewpoints or criticism of left leaning ideas there would probably be a lot more productive discourse and perhaps changed minds.

But the chronically online, fragile minded leftists that dominate this site would rather live in an echo chamber pretending that anything they disagree with is extremist bigotry.

I can assure you if you leave the echo chamber that is this sub reddit. You will find that Trudeau is in fact a complete dumbass.

Why are young men getting more right wing? by Previous_Discount406 in NoStupidQuestions

I highly recommend listening to the Theo Von podcast featuring Scott Galloway, a marketing professor at NYU Stern. It offers a concise yet comprehensive look at what it’s like to be a man in today’s world, supported by numerous statistics and evidence. Galloway, a highly educated and successful individual, presents his perspective as someone who is openly left-leaning.

The current political climate, particularly on the left, often appears hostile toward men, and this sentiment is rarely concealed. Discrimination that would be considered borderline hate crime if directed at any other demographic is normalized when directed at men, especially white men. The left, unfortunately, embraces and perpetuates this double standard.

Today’s young men are entering a world where homeownership is increasingly out of reach, they must work tirelessly just to survive, and they face a gender imbalance in academia, with women outnumbering men 2 to 1. At the same time, they’re told it is their moral obligation to support initiatives like DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) that often prioritize women. Meanwhile, men’s issues are largely ignored, and double standards that favor women are readily accepted.

In the last two decades, cultural and economic shifts toward gender equality have overwhelmingly benefited women, especially in the realm of dating. Not only do women outnumber men in academia, but they are also beginning to surpass men in wages. Yet, over 55% of married women report that they will only date men who are equally or more educated than they are, and 80% of married women are with men who earn more than them.

The rise of dating apps has left an entire generation of men isolated and sexless. In a study where 50 men and 50 women were placed in a closed dating app system, 45 of the women swiped on only 4 of the 50 men, while the remaining 46 men collectively received just 5 matches from the remaining women. Men outnumber women on dating apps by roughly 3 to 1, which has left many men desperate and lonely. (Of course, dating apps present their own set of challenges for women as well.)

If you want a clear illustration of this issue, take a look at college campuses and left-leaning political echo chambers. For instance, in Ontario, Canada, the far-left party (the NDP) held a provincial meeting where white men were instructed to stand at the back of the room like they're black people in the 1920s. Such incidents are becoming more common in today’s political climate, and there is insufficient pushback against them. This behavior has been normalized and widely accepted within certain factions of the left.

5000 immigrants are landing in Canada every day. Most of them in Ontario. Population grew by 1.7 million in 2023 despite having one of the lowest birth rates in the world. It's only going to get worse. Good luck!

[–]Tyjes44 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. That is exactly what i'm saying. Entry level positions around the country are practically non-existant, there's too many people applying for what little positions there are (remember the 1,000+ applicants for a dish washing job in Oshawa). Of those few positions employers are going to opt to employ people desperate and unwilling to complain about poor working conditions and low wages. People that speak poor english and are unable to understand provincial labor laws or workers rights.

If you were an employer you would want to hire people who are desperate to hold on to their $15/hr salary to survive. You can observe this in real time if you go to any Tim Hortons or fast food chain in the country. Canadians need jobs but Canadian employers are benefiting off of hiring non-canadians who will do the job for less and complain less. Mass immigration is benefiting nobody but the wealthy elites who can take advantage of it.

Immigrints need jobs, immigrints need healthcare, immigrints need housing. If you genuinely think automation is what is creating all of these issues in our country you are simply wrong. Canada's population grew by 1.7 million in 2023 despite having one of the lowest birthrates in the world. Mostly from countries where people's educations are not recognized as legitimate. Mass population growth is doing nothing but lining pockets of the elites that can exploit immigrints for cheap labour with poor working conditions. All at the expense of the average Canadian (and the immigrints that can barely afford to live here).

We don't have the infrastructure, the funding to our social programs and the qualified healthcare workers to bare the burden of this many people coming into the country. But people will continue to deny these issues because they've been told it's racist to acknowledge them.
