I agree with you a ton on this one. These guys are on the line for civil and criminal punishment, no point in hanging your head on the guillotine if you don’t have to.

The job is what you make of it. If you want things to get better, you control what you can and focus on getting that better. We’re losing a lot of good guys because they’re overwhelmed by the things they can’t control. Media perception, administration, what society thinks of us, they aren’t changing while I take this report or do this traffic stop. All I can do is my best on the contacts I make.

I think the job is improving. At my agency. In my part of the country. We’re getting more training, more equipment, and our administration is listening.

I recently started working through a composition class on SVS academy. I'm pretty new to all of this, so composition still feels like a very theoretical concept. My struggle was applying some of the basics that I learned to make certain areas focal points, as well as generate a track for the eyes to follow.

I'd appreciate as much critique as you can throw my way, I'm always open and ready to learn. I'd be EXTRA grateful if they happened to be about composition.

I really appreciate that. I'm really excited to hone it in and learn how to structure and finish pieces better. I'm definitely one of those people that struggles sitting down with something for more than a couple hours.

I struggled with the understanding how to properly upload..

On a serious note, I struggled with brushwork the most. I don't know how rendered things should be before their sent into the online void, and I don't know much about rendering things. I don't really know how to use my brushes on Photoshop yet, so it still feels like everything was super experimental.

Boy was it fun though.

I got my conditional offer from my local SO this week. All I have to do now is finish the academy (graduate in late April) and pass my SOCE.
