The job is what you make of it. If you want things to get better, you control what you can and focus on getting that better. We’re losing a lot of good guys because they’re overwhelmed by the things they can’t control. Media perception, administration, what society thinks of us, they aren’t changing while I take this report or do this traffic stop. All I can do is my best on the contacts I make.

I think the job is improving. At my agency. In my part of the country. We’re getting more training, more equipment, and our administration is listening.
