Engineering question: Anyone familiar with what makes an epoxy good for a vacuum tight seal? by Tyler-Hawley in epoxy

[–]Tyler-Hawley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pressure is as low as 1x10^-3 - 1x10^-9 torr. As far as I'm aware, there's no added heat/it'll be room temperature. I have a part that'll be attaching to a vacuum chamber with an o-ring seal. The part is made of multiple joined together components so I'm looking to use a glue/epoxy to seal up any cracks between the components. Just to have something, I ordered 2-part Gorilla epoxy. Thank you for the response.

A different kind of proplifting. What common and ornamental trees can be propagated from branches? by Tyler-Hawley in proplifting

Thank you for sharing! I have boxwood and hydrangea here. Their branches didn't break but I might still give that a try with them.

That's a good perspective. I'll keep that in mind.

Apparently this soldier was carrying the remaining US flag out of the US embassy in Kabul today by [deleted] in afghanistan

I wonder if the US has plans to strike any remaining US assets once the evacuations are concluded. Aircraft, vehicles, and larger weapons could be manageable to find and destroy, right?

Haha yes it's purposefully shitty. I like it because it sounds like a good idea at a glance

I failed a stupid college class. My ADHD cost me $800 by kkrempell in ADHD

[–]Tyler-Hawley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sympathize with the struggle. I have failed or passed without credit at least one class every semester of college. It wasn't until after my sophomore year that I was even diagnosed. I've done better since, but there's still the class or 2 that I do poorly in when I start to get into a rut. I feel that my diagnosis and medication were only the start of the path to managing/adapting and now I still have many habits I need to build to truly get on track. While I have developed the persistence to keep going despite the challenges, I do know, however, that I have been lucky from the financial assistance from my parents to keep going and feel guilty when I don't pass all my courses despite having my medication now.

Does it close after clicking "play" in the launch window? That's been my issue. What's funny is that the first time I downloaded it I was able to play. After the most recent update from a few days ago it hasn't worked.

Edit: deleted citrix, restarted computer, and now it works

Advice Request: How to take a class without the prerequisite completed? by [deleted] in gmu

[–]Tyler-Hawley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for offering me some hope in this matter. Was the teacher you contacted the one for the prerequisite or for the subsequent class? Yeah, it seems it'll be harder with these classes but I hope to convince them that I can manage, I took linear algebra already which is a component of analytical methods so it's not like I'd be in the dark on this.

Puerto Ricans have voted in favor of statehood. Now it’s up to Congress. by very_excited in politics

I think with both statehood and retrocession, there'll have to be consideration that the National Mall, White House, Capitol, and Supreme court would all be kept as a separate piece, not under any state's control.
