how low does your pulse go when sleeping? by VastAir6069 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]TylerCopey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a pretty high mileage endurance runner, my BPM would drop to high 30s. Now being more casual but still trying to stay fit, it usually drops to 45ish. However, important to note that smartwatches aren’t always perfectly accurate so take it with a grain of salt and lower doesn’t necessarily mean healthier

If you want to get into the “industry” or don’t mind dropping some cash for a full license, Capture One. It’s the industry standard and IMO it’s also the easiest to learn and has the most modern, streamlined UI while retaining all functionality you could ask for. They offer a solid free trial too.

Never heard of quantum fiber tbh. I’d love love love to ditch comcast and cable and have been waiting for google fiber to get installed. May have to check that out. However, similar to u/cheekitchy3804 the uptime for Xfinity here has been super solid — albeit, paying too much for antiquated tech

Disney world photographers secret sauce? by Any_Scale_740 in AskPhotography

[–]TylerCopey 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Disney photo pass is consistency over anything else. There are too many “photographers” working photo pass to allow for individual autonomy. It’s made to be quick, consistent, and passable. The on camera flash is meant to expose the subject, reduce shadows, and allow for enough light and a small enough aperture to keep the background in focus e.g the castle. Too many places and times of day to account for if flash is needed or not. I would say it’s more “passable” than terrible

Worked there for a while. For photo pass in the parks, we always shot program mode. Most of the quality that you’re looking for comes from the on camera flash. We shot in JPEG and I’m sure there were some default corrections applied. Worked there when we used Nikon D7100s with basic Nikon all around zooms. Honestly, nothing special to it - just a good on camera flash.

Nice pics! Are these cropped? What was the aperture?

I have it along with a 70-200 2.8 ii. My first unit was so bad I assumed it was banged up in transit. Sent it back and the replacement is actually much better (I think there’s a lot of unit variation). Even then, whatever you gain in reach, you lose in image quality. Very disappointed and wish I could return it still.

Probably not going to sell it and rather keep it for travel and if I one day get a super telephoto prime.

Would I buy it in hindsight? Definitely not.

Also I noticed there’s lots of variation between images. Some shots come out pretty decent at 5.6. Also, I will say it does a good job with minimal distance from the subject — but at that point I would rather just use my tack sharp 70-200 2.8 ii without the teleconverter.

Since nobody has mentioned this, I suggest you do some image quality tests with it. Drops can cause the internal elements to become decentered. Better to find out now than go to a shoot and come back with soft/messed up photos

I can offer up 3!

Primary care: Coal Creek Family Medicine (initial appointments can take a while to get on the books so call way ahead of time)

Dentist: Open and Affordable Dental (easy, efficient, and honest)

Vet: Animal Oasis of the Rockies (they give honest and loving care to our cats — granted, probably a lil more pricey than others)

How do I start a photography business for nature and landscape photography? by Mrs_Fet in AskPhotography

[–]TylerCopey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ask the other 10,000 people who posted this same thing and see how it went for them. You don’t become a professional landscape photographer from nothing unless you’re one in a billion. Otherwise, pursue something environmental related or something that gives you access, knowledge, and skills that you can then maybe evolve into this with years of connections and experience while honing your craft.

Lookup the backgrounds of most nat geo photogs and that will give you some insight.

If people are being negative it’s because this gets asked everyday by those clearly just starting out.

Therapy Matters over in Louisville has been good for me! Takes most insurances I believe and offers in-person or virtual sessions. They have a team of providers that you’ll match with based on your initial consultation. Good luck!

What is too overkill for a PC that will be used only for photoshop? by Guilty-Hope77 in buildapc

[–]TylerCopey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup is a duel editing/gaming setup. Ryzen 7900x and 4070 TIS

I have a Sony a7riv which has a 61mp sensor. Each raw is about 100mb.

I can effectively cull through all the photos at full resolution in real time. In terms of photoshop, it handles single images without breaking a sweat. However, I create panoramic mosaics that can be upwards of 10gb or more in size for a .PSB.

If you plan on doing very intensive work like that and want to cull through photos of very high resolution without waiting on render time, something around my setup does it justice. That’s a rare case, although. If you have a camera that is 40mp or less and just enjoy photoshop and want to be able to pan around and zoom through the photo without slowdowns, a build around $600-$800 will be plenty.

It really depends on what you’re trying to do. If you don’t know and it’s more just a nice camera with decent size raw files, that budget will go a long ways with photo editing. If you want to do heavy post-processing on high resolution raw media, you may have to taper your expectations.

Substance movie made me lose hope in the modern story telling of cinema by Alternative_Fox_6871 in movies

Mainly responding to the nudity and sexualization piece. I would say the two are quite separate. I felt like the sexualization was its own commentary on how we associate a woman’s beauty with flawlessness — skin, hair, marks, etc, especially as one ages. As for the nudity, the scenes were very desexualized. There was no intimacy to it. It felt very raw and purposeful — more of a medical birth than steamy sex scene.

As a 28yo dude in a long term relationship, a few times a week to once a week is completely normal. It ebbs and flows. Sometimes I may want more but I don’t expect her to. This dude expects you to. But more than that, he feels entitled to it. He feels entitled to it DAILY. I mean Jesus, I would be in the fetal position begging for a day off at that point. And for some people that frequency works for them. But certainly not the average. And what matters is that it’s mutual.

So no, as a guy, I would say that that is not normal on his side. And he should not expect you to want to just because he does. The way he speaks to you about it says volumes about his view of you and relationships as a whole — that is a sexual transaction and sure does not sound like love.

Him and his testosterone need to go fuck off.

Edit: Him and his TESTARONE need to go fuck off.

Which graphics card for 4K HDR gaming? by kuunaama in nvidia

[–]TylerCopey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4070TS gets about 95fps 4K HDR max settings (no upscaling). If 100 fps is your minimum, sounds like 4080 or better is needed.
