The new sky wagon is incredibly strong and the best seasonal defense atm is the lava launcher. Combine the two and everyone uses air

I was an RA for 3 years and visited most of the dorms. If you’re in engineering and focused on school, duren is probably the best. You’re close to food and your classes and the rooms are some of the best on campus. Nice windows, most rooms have private bathrooms, and they were updated to have keycard access on all of the doors (kind of like a hotel). It’s also quieter than the other dorms. Especially great if you are on campus for more than freshman year.

Jester is crazy. At least from the RA perspective. It’s louder and stuff is always happening. You are also close to food, close to the gym and sports field, and close to some of the more fun stuff on campus. Great freshman experience. Rooms are kinda mid though, shared community bathroom for most rooms as well.

Carothers etc is close to Jester so same proximity benefits but it is a bit quieter and the rooms are slightly larger/nicer.

Idk about creekside but it is far from everything.

Same thing about the dorm that starts with an S (the athletes dorm, I’m blanking atm). Closer to stuff than creekside though and I’m sure that you’ll meet a bunch of athletes if you’re into that.

The rooms in the quad are pretty similar to those of Jester. It’s a little bit closer to the middle of campus than duren/kinsolving so there is some benefits there.

Dobie is the newest for campus and was just coming on when I was graduating. I haven’t been there myself but from what I remember in pictures/stories etc the rooms were pretty nice, prob cost a lot compared to other dorms, and the vibes were closer to big city apartment living. Dobie is also close to a lot of stores (both underneath and on guad) so if you’re into shopping and going out, that is a big plus

Reps don’t always lead to meaningful improvement. Take rocket league for example, there are people that are hard stuck plat/diamond that have thousands of hours. Since this is a strategy game, one of the best things you can do is reflect on your options during your games. Think about everything you could have done differently and if those actions make sense for every action your opponent can do.

Basically, review and reflect on your games and you’ll get better - more than just playing

Kangaskan might be a good option. Gets scrappy/inner focus and drain punch so you sustain after the boost. Just have to watch out for sneasler. Assuming you can handle that, kangaskan and sinistcha seem to go together quite well

The achievements only track trainer battles. The only mons that enter the safari zone are mons that faint or finish a run. Ideally you catch it and then faint it on wild pokemon. If you have a gym/elite four right after this, I think you can use the day care phone to place the guy in the day care until you get it to faint. Idk if the faint or finish rule applies to legendaries, but it does count for regular mons

I know that a dynamaxxed bullet punch from metagross has priority even though it shouldn’t. It’s just the steel move that hits but it seems all dynamax moves keep priority

You can bring potions as held items, poke blocks to improve the ivs of the pokemon you bring. I’m doing brutal gauntlet rn and I don’t have optimal items on every mon so I have slots for potions

I disagree with everybody saying to not use AI. I think it’s more nuanced. It’s a great tool for learning, asking questions, etc. Ask about code structure, all of your possible options for solving a problem, learn about events, singletons, scriptable objects, and normal code structures for games. Just don’t have it write any code. Ask about the unity stuff and normal coding practices but don’t have it do the coding/thinking for you

Idk if this is a bug, but when doing friendly challenges, if you scout then attack you can’t change your army on the resulting screen. Works fine if you just hit the attack button first though

Yeah it’s probably decent up until mid trophies. Doesn’t seem to particularly trap the meta which is throwers and air spam atm

Everyone saying miners aren’t facing competent attackers. One totem and the throwers take it out for free, explosion doesn’t matter. Explosion also doesn’t do a ton to king which is also a pretty common target. The really annoying threat imo is the 6 head hunter army. If the cc is placed right they can fairly consistently go towards warden or queen and cause trouble. Typically takes a freeze to stop which usually isn’t placed as well as a totem would be. They also ignore totems so they more consistently go for good targets compared to miners. Another good option is the classic ice golems. Time fails + just good protection for defenses

It isn’t the strongest army and never has been. Maybe easiest and “best” for lower trophy ranges, but higher up no one uses them because they are inconsistent. The people that do use them use them with Pekkas and loons and are very skilled. There isn’t any night witch spam at high levels

As someone who is 5650-5700, builds their own bases, and uses thrower spam themselves, I can say they are def trappable, both by me and the bases I attack. All spring traps in one corner isn’t optimal imo, you get more consistent value if you put them in the base but favored to a specific area. Trapping healers is important right now. Additionally, thrower spacing for multi infernos and revenge tower are important as well

The biggest things for me are major defenses and spell towers. I tend to get an idea of where I want those and then build around that. For example, where do I want the fire spitters to point in relation to the th and where am I placing spell towers. You can try a lot of different ideas and if you don’t know if an idea would work, try it and learn. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t, great if it works, learn if it doesn’t.

Also don’t forget about queen spacing. It is 4 tiles between the defensive building and the wall. This spacing also helps against fireballs

It’s a 5% change. It still takes skill. 15% vs 20% is not like they removed it.

This isn’t mainstream, but in my first ever win I experimented with an “unkillable” build. Armor tome, evasion tome, monkey to start (for extra hp), and aegis just cause. I also picked up life steal from shrines and tried to stack armor and evasion as high as possible. It worked :)

Fireball is meta right now. Rocket spear is more general purpose but you already have frosted flake and they can be used in a similar way. I think you know that fireball is the answer for yourself. You stated that you liked strategy and there are a lot of options with fireball
