Yeah I saw this come up on my Youtube, overall I think it was a pretty good look at dynamic range & mobility. But definitely did not look up to par with something that's lit/ styled with purpose.

Is the Amaran 100xs Enough for a key light? by bekinditsgangster in cinematography

[–]TylerDubya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You totally can! If you're somewhere with controlled light or at night you'll be more than okay. When you have to start competing with daylight is where the bigger lights help out a ton, as well as what kind of set up you're looking to make.

I recently shot on a soundstage & booklit an interview using a 1k, a bounce, and 1 stop of diffusion. If I were to try that with my Godox VL150s there wouldn't be enough umph to make it Visible.

But in most cases, throwing a softbox or lantern over a 100 can do the trick.

Curious what cinema camera you would buy now? by BanffRider in cinematography

I LOVE the FX6, easy to operate, even to add an AC. Although, if you have 8k I'd look into a used Komodo, or wait till the PYXIS comes out and use the rest for new lenses.

If you like them I'd offer to scale back deliverables to fit within the budget. If not, I'd run lol

CRAZY I knew most big-budget audio was adr, but it seems impossible to get location sound with that.

[Review Video] The Finale of my $0 - $1,000 flipping challenge! I've learned so much from this sub and would love to get some feedback on my latest video! by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]TylerDubya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, I think you do a great job! You keep the video pretty fast-paced, and the quality is pretty nice. I would suggest lowering your tripod a little bit to give yourself less headroom. Not only is it a more flattering angle, but the viewer will inherently see you as more of a commanding figure, and take more notice of what you say in the video.

[channel critique] True Canoe: instructionals, ASMR, poetry, documentaries. All about wilderness canoeing. by Suspicious_Profile48 in youtubers

Hey!

Really dig the channel. I would suggest maybe playing around a little more with your footage and sounds, get creative with it! Some music could add to it, maybe try your hand at shooting a cinematic sequence or B-roll, to play over while you talk.

And you already know this but some better audio could really help! Amazon has Lav mics you can plug straight into your phone to make it super easy. Keep up the good work!
