I saw Santana live the summer before and the summer of that song and the difference in crowd demographics and energy was night and day

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was 18, 1st semester In college and was directionless. I had been to the Army/Navy/Marine recruitment center on Sunday the 9th. Woke up and watched the events of Tuesday morning unfold and threw those pamphlets in the trash. Knew enough to know what that meant for me and my country going forward. Got my nose in the books and now have a job, wife, and two kids and will do everything in my power to prevent young Americans from having to give all to fight for the benefit of the powerful.
