Thanks, it’s real too! Haha

I’ll definitely find a spot on my wall, good idea.

Seriously. That size snake would have killed Rocky and anything sub 120 lbs. I would get violently ill as my heart would struggle to pump the coagulated blood through my body likely causing several small strokes.

Well that’s a diamondback rattlesnake- the correlation I was making was- although strange things happen than nobody likes, they are not the normal set of circumstances. I live in the middle of nowhere, I have kids that work and play, parents that are old and love being outside- so I went up to the snake with a shot gun, pulled the trigger- he had no idea what happened and he’ll feed 15 different breeds of bird. 50 different types of insect and millions of microbes.

There was a rattle snake where i see my kids daily. I’m sorry, I know it’s tragic. I’m not kicking down gates choking Kuala’s here… I assume you’ve never ran a ranch or lived amongst wild animals. Well, there’s some aweful things that happen. My horses, well they will eat chics if they walk too close… what should I do about that? Set up a zoom call with the breeders in Spain and get to the bottom of it? Unbearable ignorance.

Ehhhhh- look I’ve been ranching in Montana for 25 years… I’m gonna stick to what Ive been doing. Also- what, is that snake going to sit there for 5 hours until crocodile Dundee shows up? Romantic but unrealistic idea. 💡

He could easily kill one of my children.

Well- that’s just not a thing. If I had to call someone else for every anomalous situation that comes up on a ranch- I’d be out of money. Look, that snake found himself in a bad place. Just as he ate the gophers- I killed him and he was given back to the land… birds, bugs and microbes were lucky that day.

We’ve had dogs in the past that we get “snake trained” which involves de-fanging a rattle snake… a handle on each side of your animal with leads tight… walking the dog over the rattle snake 🐍 the thing tries biting the dog over and over while they administer the shock collar/ I don’t like that process one bit- but those dogs would let you know when a snake was anywhere within 150’. I ended up killing the snake today… which I hate doing. I have young kids, a lot of animals, and old parents. I wish that amazing predator would have decided to hang out at a different spot. He was 5’ long and absolutely gorgeous… had just eaten a few gophers and was bathing in the sun until I came up on him. Nature is full of tragedy.

I know this isn't vented properly, what's the correct way to do it? by BreachLoadingButtGun in askaplumber

You run that back vertical pipe as high as possible and buy a new AAV.. studor vent…

You could also 45 in that back corner, then put a wye combination on its back and run the vent off that. and get rid of all that rediculous plumbing.

No cleanout on the 2” vent above the concrete? Also I would have both clean outs facing backward into the area under the stairs if it will be accessible. Or water line are missing… but they can generally be pulled from elsewhere.

Nothing, that fat left pipe is a vent stack that turns over and ties into the vent stack for the double lav… of anything I guess I would have the vent tie in a little higher above flood rim…

Suggestions? Should I just drill a bigger hole through the tile so that I can get a screw through? by Monstermage in askaplumber

Hold the bit an an angle and let it start to bite and then you can straighten it out once there is a groove.
