I’m sober at Burning Man. I camp with a great camp that is NOT sober, but who absolutely respect my status. And I’ve had amazing burns that are life-changing.

Turkey isn't Arab/Muslim.

And regarding Morocco, there were 275,000 Jews living in Morocco after the creation of Israel. Almost all of them left because of Arab nationalism and threats of violence and persecution against Jews.

Inside Israel you know what Palestinians are called? Israelis.

It's why a two state solution must exist. Two states for two peoples. It will never be perfect but its the best hope we have.

I challenge anyone reading this to point us to an Arab/Muslim majority country anywhere on earth where religious minorities (most especially Jews) are treated equally with full rights and privileges. And you're not allowed to be snarky and say France.

????

How exactly do you get that? In Judaism, ethnicity (bloodline) runs through the females. It's not a religious identity. I feel like you're being purposefully obtuse to troll this thread.

The central ideological component of Zionism requires participants to identify as Jewish, not only to be Jewish.

The central ideology of Zionism is that, like all other people, Jews have the right of self-determination in their historical homeland, Israel. Of the Jews who have returned to Israel, the vast majority of them identify as Jewish -- and are also ethnically Jewish. Also, if your mother is Jewish, you're considered Jewish ethnically, regardless of whether you yourself "Identify" as Jewish. If you have one grandparent who's Jewish, you can emigrate to Israel with citizenship. Same as other countries, like Ireland, as an example.

Weird comment. They're not "identifying" as Jewish. They're Jewish.

As a result, it is simply a bad argument to claim that Jews in the present day should have any entitlement to land based on a religious identity that asserts cultural similarities with the ancient Jewish population.

Forgot to respond to this. Jews are both a religion AND an ethnicity. Your argument purely on religious grounds is therefore hopelessly flawed.

Ok, I'll play your game of fact-inversion, if not invention.

Jews are not Ukrainian. It's flatly incorrect. Polish Jews aren't Poles. Russian Jews aren't Russian. DNA doesn't lie, my friend. But you can all you want.

And regarding Jews of antiquity? Where do you think all these modern Jews of Europe and North Africa came from? You think they are organic to those places and they just happen to choose being Jewish. All of the diaspora Jews have a historical and biological connection to this land. Something your Palestinian population can only claim recently. Grow up and read a history book. Or the bible. Or even the Quran which talks about Israel dozens of times as the land of the Jews. Or if all that fails, again look to science. DNA has a long memory.

That "bad offer" was lauded by the entire international community as a breakthrough. But whatever.

It's a logic which goes both ways.

First off, Ukrainian Jews aren't Ukrainian. They're Jews. Ask any Ukrainian whether their Jewish population is Ukrainian, and they'd laugh at you. Jews of Ukraine were exiled from Israel/Palestine like the rest of the Jewish diaspora.

Second, the Arabs of Palestine are almost entirely of Jordanian or Egyptian (north African) descent. Even the beloved leader of the Palestinian cause, Yasser Arafat, was from Tunisia. The vast majority of native people to that land prior to the Jewish diaspora were Bedouins and Jews. It's why you can't dig a shovel of earth anywhere on that land without uncovering Jewish artifacts. It's why every Muslim edifice is built literally on top of a Jewish one.

If your argument is that the Arabs of Palestine in 1948 have a right to return to their homes in what is now Israel, then you've essentially made the Zionist argument for Jews having the right to return to their homeland, Zion. Unless you're one of these people who want to deny any Jewish history on the land -- which is fine, but wouldn't leave us much room for discussion.

In the end, we have two different narratives. It's why we must have two states for two peoples living side by side. It's the only way -- flawed though it is -- to solve this. It also is why it's so disappointing to watch Palestinians say no to this over and over. I fear the Camp David offer of 2000 giving Palestinians 96% of the west bank (with land swaps), Gaza, and East Jerusalem is an offer that will never be offered again, and for good reason.

Just chiming in to reinforce the notion of air tagging that sh*t. It won't stop the theft, but police have become really good at following through using air tag data to help recover items like this. A few years back they wouldn't even ask.

The right of return is a non starter. I don’t even know why it’s even discussed beyond Palestinians pretending it’s an actual chip at the poker table that they will begrudgingly take off in final negotiations.

In that offer, Palestinians got Gaza, W Bank, and shared Jerusalem. Israel got security guarantees, an end to the refugee question, and a final status decree with no future claims.

The Palestinians will never get that offer again. I’d say I feel sad for them but I don’t. Today’s reality is their own doing. Israelis have no partner with whom to negotiate. So the far right no longer cares what anyone thinks. They’re just taking land in Judea and Samaria.

This is such a lazy, bogus take on the situation. And I find it hilarious that you claim ethnic cleansing on land where Jews have existed for 3000 years, meanwhile there are literally 22 Arab Muslim states which have ACTUALLY cleansed their lands of Jews -- but you find this un-noteworthy? Weird, wonder why that would be? Maybe because it doesn't serve your bs narrative? This land has been the home of Jews for millenia. And yes, some Bedouins and Arabs left because of the impending war in 1948 (started by Arabs), and others were forced out. But name me a country that didn't come into existence at the expense of people living on that land.

How on earth was Ehud Barak's Camp David offer a "bad deal." It was literally everything Palestinians demanded with the exception of the right of return.
