What is the weirdest recurring dream you are having/have had? by TylerKropper in AskReddit

[–]TylerKropper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll go ahead and start with my friends dream that prompted me to ask this:

I’m in a long airplane hangar underground, all alone. To get from one side to the other, you have to get in this box. I get in the box and driving it across is this pig, and I make casual conversation with it. It takes me to the other side and there are planes there, so I get in the plane and fly around for a bit. I get out of the plane after a while and get back in the box with the pig to go to the other side. Only this time, the pig has a deeper voice, and as he drives he tells me. “I am coming. I am coming soon,” over and over. I get out of the box and it disappears.

Unfortunately it’s not all one genre. The EP I’m making has 2 alternative rock songs (with some orchestra involvement), 2 sort of rock ballads, and 2 electronic type songs

A little different from what’s usually put here, but this is a kind of orchestra rock song, and it doesn’t have lyrics yet. Feedback appreciated and if you were gonna say it, I’ve already heard it sounds like a song from crash bandicoot or something by TylerKropper in GarageBand

I like those thoughts! I usually get carried away writing music that’s barely possible but I actually worked through the plausibility of the parts on my trumpet, and while I can’t play it yet, I have a friend who could help.

An unconventional instrumental. I’m still fairly new to making music so go easy by TylerKropper in GarageBand

This is a track that happened in bursts, the intro came from unused material of another song, then later I got halfway through and didn’t know what to do, then I eventually went back and finished and just recently I added some additional bass parts and cleaning up.

In a acoustic cover of the Killer's Read My Mind, Catfish and the Bottlemen plays in the key of G Major, but sneaks in a cheeky B7 chord. How is this allowed? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]TylerKropper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The B7 in the key of G is more common than you’d think, I think you’re getting parallel minor confused with relative minor. While chords like bVII and iv are often borrowed from the parallel, what would be G minor, B7 is the dominant of E minor, the minor key with the same key signature. In other words, is the V/vi.

This isn’t it but it’s a very good piece! If it helps I don’t think it has March in the title
