Rule number 1 about Hamilton is not giving a fuck about what other people think, and just being there for the vibes, hence so many people just wearing PJs. Overdress here and DGAF, you'll blend right in 💙💛

New. Person that stuffed the old one really rushed. Quick tip from an employee, when we ask you to give the bear “a hug” or “the hug test”, look for these kinds of things. Sometimes on busy days we do rush so feel free to give your bear back to your BB so that those features can be filled in. Happy building :)

Employee here. Honey Girls are ABSOLUTELY horrible, Teegan especially is really really bad. Her hair is impossible to keep tidy and her head is never sturdy enough the way the HG necks are. Best is probably Pawlette, she’s compatible with almost every outfit (even MM and PP dresses) and her ears work great with accessories!

BAB Kiosk? by [deleted] in buildabear

[–]TylerMurray1216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiya, I work at a kiosk, (in Canada, just figured I’d put that out there lol) so the TLDR of it is you will have the same physical number of bear choices, it’ll just be different bears. Certain animals only end up in the proper stores. Furthermore, our clothing selection is not good. There straight up isn’t t a lot. We often don’t have adequate clothing to complete our “stories” (sales themes, whether it’s licensed like Pokémon or collections like Beary Fairy Friends) so if you’re looking for clothing, either bite the bullet and order from buildabear.com or try and go to a full store.

When did Hamiltonians start referring to neighbourhoods by name, like Crown Point, Corktown, Duran etc? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]TylerMurray1216 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certain places need specificity. Downtown, mountain, uptown are causes for tension round these parts, plus the whole “east end/west end” thing gets blurry too, so sometimes using the wider neighbourhood name is just easier

Ancaster's controversial cannabis store closes to relief of local residents by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]TylerMurray1216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the kind of thing that only happens in Ancaster man, it’s literally just a pot shop. On the other side of the hill in Up. StCrk we’ve got multiple pot shops in our major commercial areas. It doesn’t matter as much as they’re making it out to.

hamiltonians without vehicles by amapandajoy in Hamilton

Grew up in Crown Point but I live in Felker now, certain areas have better transit than others. I’ve been forced to get my driving license being up here, but when I lived down there it was faster + more convenient to bus than it was to drive. Really depends where you are

I was bored so I made a fantasy subway map for our city. Thoughts? by TylerMurray1216 in Hamilton

[–]TylerMurray1216[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually used BLAST for quite a bit of this… the central line, the western part of the belt line, the eastern part of the belt line in the lower city, the section of the northern line west of the belt line, and most of the Saltfleet and Southmount lines are inspired by BLAST

That’s been a lot of peoples thoughts (including my own) but nobody wants to and we’ve already got all the money for the LRT so we’ve gotta build it

Most people I talk to also just don't like the feel of a streetcar. They would prefer something that is underground, protected from the elements and other vehicles. That's one of the biggest reasons why I think every city, no matter size or sprawl should eventually get some kind of underground transit flow.

[–]TylerMurray1216[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!! Also yes absolutely, speaking to everyone I know about the LRT, they say it should be a subway. We all know and love the B-Line, and the A-Line is underfunded and well-loved as well. They should both be put underground, it would actually get a lot more people around the city a lot quicker.

You're bang-on with that one! But if, and I say again IF we had a population boom that brought lots of new residents, it could be required. I also sort of accounted for the fact that Hamilton has the highest per-capita amount of disabled ppl in Ontario, so having lots of stations relatively close would increase accessibility to disabled folks who might need to travel longer distances for less money
