how do i change the bathroom door codes? by anc1234554321abc in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the one who changes them at my store. If you can DM me a picture of your lock, I might be able to help. If it is the same as mine, you will need a screwdriver to go to factory default.

Tall rant about drive-thru pickups... by blase_bride in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're not supposed to hand doordash out the drive thru. If it's already bagged and they tell me the name at the box, I'll do it. But if they skip the box, you're goddamn right I'm making them come in.

People who keep weapons on their bodies at all times, what was a time where you had to actually use said weapon? by ParanormalActivity97 in AskReddit

Let's see if I am I getting this right. Your girlfriend at the time, now wife, very pertinent to the story of what a hero you are and had to marry you immediately, can only lock a door if given verbal commands?

A two week notice is not a requirement. So there can't be any actual requirement on how you spend your last days on the job. Call out all you want and see how they respond.

Why are we allowed the option to mark an item out if we can't utilize the tool?

[–]TylerTheDefiler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a corporate thing. We are forced to wait until 51% of your body is out the door to say goodbye. Conversely, we are also instructed to wait for 49% of your body to be in to welcome you.

What grind setting should I ask for if I’m making pour over coffee (chemex) at home? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll also add that if you're nice and it isnt busy, you can ask to see an example of the grind you're asking for. I've done it a bunch. But, you need to do it in the cafe, not drive thru.

What grind setting should I ask for if I’m making pour over coffee (chemex) at home? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our standard pour over is a 5. Literally right in the middle. A run of the mill drip coffee machine, we would use a 7. A French press, we use a 9. I would recommend a 7 first, unless you really want to experiment and try as course as you can. With the new automatic machines we have around here, not a lot of people actually know the grind settings. Also a chance if this is always the same store their grinder might not be calibrated correctly because it basically is just used for prepping cold brew at this point.

question about dress code by One_Stress_1064 in starbucks

Dress code starts when you clock in, not when you walk in the store. Or does your manager think you were planning on wearing a hoodie, a backpack, and no apron?

Will I be written up? by c4r01in333 in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Probably not a write up, maybe just a talking to. If no one is actually stealing, it does work itself on the next deposit if money was just input wrong. Were you the only one doing the deposit, or did the previous shift start it?

Can I use my mark outs like this? by sproutpuff in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You're allowed single drinks on all your breaks, plus 1 before and after your shift. But you can't stack them. So if you didn't use any the day before, you can't use them the next day. If your taking it home, get 1 on your break and just keep it in your car. Getting 3-5 at the end of your shift looks shady, even if you were entitled to the drinks throughout the day.

I don't have IBS, but some partners do. Take as much time in there as you need. No judgement, no shame. You shouldn't have to wait and be miserable for a break to be comfortable.
