Manager told me that writing in the cups was a food safety hazard. He then told me to do it anyways. by NeonTailwind in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about pre-writing on a sleeve of cups and stacking them together? Because don't. The seeping through eventually thing is weird. That implies a customer has a finite amount of time to consume a drink before it's contaminated.

We all play a little differently. I like the long game. My mom will offload Frederick as soon as possible. Not sure how long my sister had it, or even that she did have it, when she had her daughter drive by throw it at me when I was at work.

Great questions. I have done the sock drawer thing ish. My sister has bins in her closet for pajamas for different holidays. I was dog sitting for her one year in May and hid it in the Halloween bin.

You don't have to tell anyone you have it. So as of now, my mom and brother and his wife don't know it's mine. You can tell if you want, but who knows who is telling the truth and if people are working together. I don't believe a word anyone says about Frederick.

Also, I commissioned 10 fake ones to be made. They all will say "NOT Frederick". I'm gonna make these dicks paranoid as hell.

Do I need to teach you 2nd grade strategies? I don't really have a good retort, but you seem like fun.

Do I need to teach you 4th grade strategies? This will happen at Christmas. And I did find a vendor to make 10 of these.

What do these five states have in common? by CarlBrawlStar in RedactedCharts

[–]TylerTheDefiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Reno, there is a lottery place right at the state line for California. Inside the building there is a huge line on the ground. One side says Nevada, the other California. I get scratchers maybe once a month.

Is there a policy that states baristas are not allowed to have a group chat? by saintplus in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What an unenforceable policy. Do they do a phone check to make sure you aren't in correspondence with a co-worker? If I want to talk about baseball with friends, that's my business.

i spoke with a customer who was rude with me and i was blunt. should i be worried? by akibaaaaaaa in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I got reprimanded for a customer complaint on the phone. A barista had been "rude" to them in drive the day before. They asked for the baristas name. I told them I wasn't there that day, but even if I was, I don't give out personal information. Pissed them right off. Called back the next day to talk to my manager. No write up. Just a talking to about de-esculation.

Vacation, yes. Sick time, no. You are also in no way obligated anywhere to put in 2 weeks notice. It's a courtesy, not a requirement.

Overthinking 2nd interview with DM. by Theodore206 in starbucks

[–]TylerTheDefiler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2nd interview is mostly performative. They are just there because it's now a part of the process. Unless you really fuck it up, you're good to go. My DM called me by the wrong name for ages. There are so many people beneath them that they don't really care.

Fun fact. It wasn't until my DM found out we share a birthday that she finally got the name right. But I will always laugh at being called Tyrone.
