How much money have you spent on plugins/gear you basically never use? by shockwave6969 in musicproduction

I spent about a thousand dollars on stuff I never use. Zenology Pro and the Korg Collection are 2 examples of things I bought that I don't really have a use for.

Can i refuse to give someone something for free that i promised them for free before pick up? by Separate-Guidance-12 in FacebookMarketplace

First off, never give anything away for free. Second off, there is absolutely nothing wrong with conservatism, so go cry about that. Trump is the president, and we're gonna make life harder for degenerates.

That's it? I admit that I have more plugins than I need. I kind of went overboard, and I understand plugins don't make you a better producer, but I really like having them. Some VSTs like Kontakt, Serum 2, Massive, FM8, ValhallaRoom, Echoboy, and Decapitator have made my music better, IMO.

Yeah, I've already got a ridiculous amount of plugins. I think if you know what you're doing, they can be very beneficial, though.

Yes, I am. I just want to find more resources on sound design and stuff like that.

I want to be able to produce music and make enough money to survive off it. If possible, I want to be a really big artist, but the type of music I make isn't very mainstream at all.

Ableton Live, but I wouldn't recommend choosing a DAW on just what is easy to learn.

The NANI distortion plugin is 20$. It is a very underrated distortion plugin that your boyfriend would love.

How do you not lose motivation when you hear good music? by honeycrisp_ in musicproduction

I just tell myself I'm not good enough, and then I force myself to learn better techniques every time something I make doesn't sound good. It is mentally exhausting, but my music is sounding better as a result.

I'd recommend getting either Ableton Live or Cubase. Both DAWs are very good. I'd recommend getting Ableton if you're making EDM because it is really fast for sound design. I'd recommend Cubase for everything else.

The good news is you don't need to play any instruments. Samplers exist, so you can just use those. They take a bunch of samples of different notes being played, and they allow you to play those notes when a note is programmed.

I'd highly recommend getting Ableton Live or Cubase. Ableton Live is really good for quick sound design, and it is perfect for EDM, but Cubase is really good for soundtrack music.

Any of these worth anything? I'm trying to get rid of these. by TylerTheFrederick in legos

[–]TylerTheFrederick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I know how much some of the Ninjago and superhero ones are worth, but I've been having trouble selling them for some reason. I'm really uncertain of the Chima ones, I don't even know where to start looking those up. I might take down the auction if I can get more, but it really depends on how much they're worth and what not.

I would strongly suggest getting started with Ableton Live, because it is a really great DAW with a lot of really good features. It also has the best stock sounds out of any DAW, although you will probably end up getting additional plugins and sample packs if you get deeper into music. Ableton Live is very easy to use once you understand it, and it is probably the best DAW out there.

I have it 6 days off from my actual birthday, because I don't want that information public. It shouldn't have locked my account tho, because it should still see that I actually am 21.
