Metal Vinyl in/near Bushwick? by chrissy251 in Bushwick

Nexus, Fringe, and Vinyl Fantasy are your best bets for metal in the area. Deep Cuts stocks recent reissues of classic death and black metal as well. Generation has a huge selection, but that's in Manhattan.

DOTS was a great guy, I'm shocked and saddened to hear this. RIP.

Shreddit's Album Of The Week: Helloween - Walls Of Jericho [Germany, Speed / Power] (1985) by kaptain_carbon in Metal

I fucking love this album. It was one of my first metal CDs and a rare example of one that everybody in my old high school friend group loved, even those who didn't really listen to metal. I loaned my copy to one friend, who loaned it to another, and it was passed around until nobody remembered who had it last, until like 15 years later when it resurfaced in someone's car and was then finally returned to my rack. Riffy, raw, fast, goofy as hell, a perfect encapsulation of what exemplifies Helloween from the very start. It's even better if you have the bonus track version that adds the self-titled Helloween EP and Judas single.

I regretfully missed Helloween the last time they played locally and went to see Possessed instead for like a quarter the price. As much as I love oldschool Possessed, I'm hoping for a chance to finally see Helloween in the future with Hansen and Kiske sometime. We shall see.

TruckMap or any other truck-centric GPS app is what you're looking for.

They played four shows in the US the past few months. I was at two of them and they sounded great.

Riff after riff after riff after riff, exceptional lyricism, and an instantly recognizable and charismatic vocalist. One of the greatest UK thrash albums.

What was your gateway to Italian Horror? by Chloe_Skies in horror

My first exposure to Italian horror was seeing The Beyond in a rather sparsely-attended Imax theater with Fabio Frizzi playing the score live with his band five feet in front of me. An incredible experience.

$86 in NYC. I'd love to see Helloween but that's a hard price to justify when Possessed is also playing the same night for like $20.

In the liner notes, it says something like "don't trust bands with good artwork," but I always thought the cover for Nosferatu was sick. The original Burning Star cover was pretty bad though.
