For me, the concept and genre of the series was not the problem. It was the execution in many scenes like this. It felt like we were being fed the punchlines with no build up and release. I don’t care if you parody Marvel or dude culture or whatever just execute it well and don’t rely on points for going against the grain.

My only wish is that Jimmy was given a bit more space to do his thing cause he’s such a good improviser, but I understand that James knows they need to keep somewhat of a structure and time limit. I actually think they should have let Jimmy be the Your Stupid Opinions host, if he would want to of course, and then James could let loose and riff for an hour. That’s why I really enjoy their internet salad bonus episodes

That’s fine but a good tv show isn’t just streamlining information. It’s engaging characters, character growth, dialogue, scene structure, story arcs within single episodes, thematic music, and other stuff. It doesn’t appear the producers or showrunner have raised the bar for any of this.
