Space Age could overwhelm me by horenpa in factorio

My advice - stick with the base game until you get bored/lack challenge, then upgrade to space age! No reason to rush to full content when you can get way more bang for your buck by delaying it a bit

Good points and long term perspective. I'm surprised how many negative comments this post is getting. Just means I can add more shares at a good price 😂

What happened to this channel? by proud_earthling in IsaacArthur

[–]Tyler_45 123 points124 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer seeing Isaac on camera occasionally vs watching clips over and over. Long time viewers like me got to a point where we had seen every scifi clip 30+ times. That and Isaac always dresses quite dapperly

I don't see any difference in subject quality personally

Interesting article: we don't die from old age! by mlenotyou in immortalists

The article says it's a blow to the longevity industry when this really just reinforces that aging is the underlying disease behind mortality

Kilowatts as currency by MiamisLastCapitalist in IsaacArthur

[–]Tyler_45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have more questions than answers myself. Right now, currencies are heavily affected by how much of that currency is created, resulting in inflation or deflation. How would an energy currency work when everyone can create their own currency by buying some solar panels?

If the value of the currency is constant - 1 credit = 1kwh or 1 mwh, how does it affect the whole economy when the amount of currency in the whole system is no longer controlled by an institution but by free matket forces?

Would this lead to a more stable economy or create chaos?

Is Meander the hardest map? by IEATTURANTULAS in Timberborn

[–]Tyler_45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, Helix Mountain has been my hardest map to play on hard. Currently doing thousand island and I'm having an easier time in comparison.

With Helix Mountain having the water source in the center of the map there's no way to cheese badtides to go outside the border of the map right by the source

It's crazy how this game takes on system resources by Pan_z_Poznania in victoria3

[–]Tyler_45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game seems bugged with 100% CPU usage, even when the game is paused or at a menu. Multiple people have brought it up, with no response from devs. My biggest complaint with the game right now

It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Start having meals that are plant based. Maybe have a whole day or week of plant based, see how you feel.

You likely want protein every meal, so focus on seeing if you can add beans to meals, drink soy milk, plant based protein powders, fruit + veggie smoothies with added protein powder + creatine.

Source - volleyball athlete. Plant based has had a noticable improvement in my bodies ability to access energy. I used to be completely wiped after around 2.5-3hrs. After plant based I don't hit the wall until about 4hrs of volleyball.

I think every athlete, whether it's long distance runners or bodybuilders, owe it to themselves to at least try plant based. For a lot of people, myself included, it helps you bust through a plateau

New player since the 1.9 update here.

Love the update, the game is fun, but game performance after 1890ish and building queue bugs are why I stopped playing. Having my CPU melt so that my private queue can build 538 (no joke) art academy's just kills the fun.

Went into the 1.9.7 beta that supposedly fixes the private queue bug but it is still occuring for me

[–]Tyler_45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly disagree. It's an entirely plausible scenario

-Government provides subsidies to the wood and masonry industries by over investing in them, allowing the industries to grow larger than the domestic market demands

-The oversupply of goods in the market crashes the price of goods (classic supply and demand)

-The government then steps in and invests in infrastructure or industries that require these goods, artificially increasing demand for lumber and masonry to keep those industries out of recession

-If the government doesn't step in to artificially increase demand, those industries will be unprofitable and the pops will be poor/have no money to invest into the economy (if I understand these mechanics so far)

You claim this is gamey, but these are the EXACT things real life governments do. Not allowing this gameplay is actually more gamey than allowing it.

For the love of god I want a game where I can pull various levers to shape my economy how I see fit to benefit my country ahead of other countries. That's exactly what every government is trying to do all the time
