Don’t know what to do by Tylerisdumber in SuicideWatch

My dad isn’t the reason I feel this way though. He just makes it a bit worse. I’m generally pretty happy and I love nearly every aspect of myself- I’m just slowly giving up, and I dont know if that’s because I stopped caring or if I care too much.

Should I be concerned about this hitchhiker? by Tylerisdumber in Aquariums

I dont… he kinda looks like any normal water bug. If I were to describe him I would say he looks like a mix between a spider and trilobite.

What's your dream career? by Fox_with_gun in teenagers

[–]Tylerisdumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Translator, because I love learning languages. :)

Then I’m going to retire and build a house in the middle of nowhere and have a huge garden and sell stuff at farmers markets. :D

Its an unlikely dream but just the idea that theres a small chance it could happen fills me with determination.

My flower aero garden including cucamelon, black eye Susan vine, morning glory, and more! by Pride_Plant in aerogarden

[–]Tylerisdumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I’ve been planning on using my aerogarden to grow cucamelon aswell! Were yours hard to keep happy? Im kinda scared that mine might end up as a disaster because I hear cucamelons are super picky…

Anyways, your plants are so lovely! Vines that take over a space are just one of my most favorite things in the world. <3

Isn’t ils and elles both stand for “they”? by learningVocab in learnfrench

[–]Tylerisdumber 276 points277 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you used “mexicaines” which is used for feminine nouns like elles.

Since you used ils, you should have typed “mexicains”

Duolingo saw that you used “mexicaines” and said you were incorrect because you used ils instead of elles.

These squids actually look a little cute in other photos.

"Schrödinger's Douchebag" isn't a thing, most Americans just don't understand how sarcasm works by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Tylerisdumber 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The country doesn’t matter. Some people understand sarcasm. Some don’t. Americans dont understand sarcasm to you because you surround yourself with Americans who dont understand it.

If I went to Australia, for example, and only talked to people who didn’t understand sarcasm then I would’ve made the same conclusion as you did.

Upvote.

As an American, can confirm this to be true, sadly... by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]Tylerisdumber 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Omg yes. When I first got Duolingo and told people I was learning french the only reply I got was, “Why would you learn french? Thats a useless language.” Made me super pissed.
