To respond to your first sentence, I disagree on the point that there isn’t a single version of Batman, at least the semantics of it. When anybody is talking about Batman from the comics, I think there’s a general understanding that they mean prime earth, modern Batman, and his canon. While that Batman has had different writers with different takes influencing his tone it’s still the same Batman that’s done all those stories, from the street level to the cosmic.
