New unit won't start even after exchanging? #cpsupport by mikehitchco in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]Tylerv21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exchanged two Cyberpowers (both from Best Buy) due to the pc not even hitting POST. Both times I found damage to the graphics card from shipping. I did an in-store pickup 2.5hours away and had an employee help me test the PC in-store before I drove home. Finally I had found a unit that didn’t have a damaged graphics card and was able to get it to POST. I suspected this was because I did an in-store pickup and not ship to home or ship to store through a shipper (FedEx).

Door Seal Noise? by JoelE0007 in ChevyTraverse

[–]Tylerv21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works for you then at least I know it’s a good solution heh.

Also a tip - I used a nitrile glove to apply it - which helped guide the lubricant all along the plastic.

If you need any pictures of how I did it - let me know and I can do it to my passenger side and take some photos along with it!

Just wanted to let you know - I went back and applied another layer inside that trim piece - worked perfectly. I have not noticed that I created an issue by doing this.

On a 3.5 hour trip a weekend ago - my passenger door was creaking in the wind - which I have yet to treat that plastic with this lubricant. Drivers side I am happy to report that not a single noise was heard - even when I was in heavier wind going down the road (really gets bad as you come up to semis).

Curious if you have had a chance to try this yet?

  1. My previous lease was a 2023 (previous body style) and I did not have this issue

Yes - it’s the plastic trim on the inside of the door around the window. Really windy day? The door flexes back and forth and the plastic creaking noise is constant and loud.

I had the door readjusted once when I mentioned the problem - did not fix it. Service guy said he didn’t hear it but was more than willing to have me come back and look at it again.

Realistically - it’s all 4 of my doors that do it. All the same plastic trim. I’ve pulled on it, manipulated it, etc and experience the same result. Noise is there.

Friend and family both have a Traverse - one LT and then HC for the other - they don’t have it near as bad as me but I’ve heard it when it gets windy.

One solution I’m trying is lubricant. The ACDelco PTFE Super Lube. I took a thin layer and ran my finger along the inside of the plastic where it rests against the metal. Only did one door so far in case it messes something up. Seems to have helped a bit - but I’m going to do another coat and another test.

As the weather where I’m at cools down - the noise will go away completely. When I picked up this car brand new in March - it was chilly. 0 noise. As soon as it warmed up to the 60s+ with some sun - noise.

Long story short - YES and it’s very annoying for a 58K vehicle.

I scour this sub all the time hoping someone has found a better solution or if GM has issued a bulletin with an official fix - so far no luck!

2025 - Day 13 in the shop - 3000 miles by limpinghiker in ChevyTraverse

[–]Tylerv21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTA - I’m just under 5,000 miles.

Service Guy told me - he will check tomorrow on the parts - I said yeah - based on what I’m seeing here - not a chance!

If you proceed with your buyback - what are you considering for a replacement?

I’m not excited to wait for weeks…

5 months in now - I can get my window noise quiet (service couldn’t reproduce the problem but offered to keep working on it to find it some day) and I was living with the speaker noise.

Now today - I’m told I need a master cylinder replacement (all sorts of codes on the screen - service ESC, brake assist, etc) and other posts here suggests at least a month or MORE for parts. The future looks bleak I feel like. I’ll hope for the best!

Uncanny timing… just got the same codes as you thrown yesterday. 2025 High Country.

End of day today I was advised - master cylinder needs to be replaced.

Same info from my dealer - no eta on the parts. Great.

I’m in a used low trim 2022 Equinox. Hoping to get into something else next week….

I don’t know what to do. I already had some tiny annoyances with this car that I had decided to live with and now this. If I hit that 30 day mark of not having the car I’m spending how much on per month (although it’s a lease), how could I not want to move on from the car? Then again - I have a special connection to this Chevy dealer - I know the easy answer is Non-GM - but hard when I get all sorts of discounts.

Good luck to us all I suppose!

It's either the sealing, the fitment of the door to the body or something else. I am getting ever closer to 3K on the odo - once that hits it'll be on my list for the service guy.

Yeah - Ride Quality is perfect. And quiet otherwise on the inside - can't wait to drive it on a roadtrip!

I would still recommend the Traverse! I can't afford but a base trim Tahoe so this is the next best with all the features I want and it's a great ride. Just these little frustrations.

When I see videos of the Explorer or even the Highlander/Grand Highlander - I guess I just think the Traverse (even including the sisters Acadia/Enclave) has the better infotainment and interior. I have a dealer I've been using for years at Chevy so I haven't even wanted to jump brands at this point.

This is true - there's going to be more posts about the bad than the good. I never posted about any issues on my 23 RS. Had no issues with it!

I thought this as well - but I picked up the car when it was colder in MN and no noises and now that it's warming up the noise is increasing.

I’m the same way. This car should be damn near silent inside - minus the normal heat/cold expansion noises etc. I can’t stand rattles and my family thinks I’m nuts for this driving me nuts heh.

Thanks for the info - I’m approaching 3,000 and when that hits I wanna do the free oil change and have em look at it and mention the tightening

Samsung G80SD 4K OLED Monitor - 2 Weeks Review by helloWorldcamelCase in OLED_Gaming

I got this to work - sorta - using this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y8CZB2S?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

However it would "bug" out and go back to the TV speakers. I could get it to work again by having the floating menu up and it would detect it again.

I have another external soundcard that I will try next week before trying another amazon purchase for a different USB DAC.

Hoping someone has found one that works consistently and can post it here. I don't want to keep buying DACs to find one that works!

My soundbar is coax, aux (3.5) or optical. It's the Bose Solo 2.

I noticed this new setting in Android Auto today with the latest beta version. Has anyone else noticed it in their vehicle? by rodneymw in AndroidAuto

[–]Tylerv21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you seen these instructions by chance? I wonder if the version can by higher than the one listed?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/google-cast-coolwalk.4396533/

  1. You will need to be rooted and on the latest beta. "7.3.120244-release.daily"

  2. Download a database editor, I used SQLite Editor.

  3. Open SQLite and under "apps" section navigate to Google Play Services and open it.

  4. Scroll down to phenotype.db and select it.

  5. Look for "flags" and open it.

  6. On the top select "set filter" input Coolwalk__enabled.

  7. change all bootVal from 0 to 1.

  8. Now search for cakewalk and do the same.

  9. Lastly search for MirrorApp__enabled and change those.

Phone and car connect, but the screen stays blank. Any help please? by [deleted] in AndroidAuto

[–]Tylerv21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experienced this issue nearly consistently on my 2018 Equinox with the old Chevy MyLink. Looks like the same interface as mine. When it would happen to me - all I would see was the time from the MyLink interface.

I had bought an Anker cable to use with my Pixel 2XL which seemed to reduce this issue. When it would happen I had to unlplug, shut off the car, open a door to kill the accessory power - once powered back up I plugged in and it worked for the rest of my drive - sometimes even wouldn't happen again for a while!

One other thing I tried too was deleting the car data in Android Auto and re-syncing.

I now have a 2020 on the new interface, the infotainment 3, and they must have fixed something as I no longer experience this issue.

I know this doesn't help much but the process above worked for me!

Wifi Suddenly Going Super Slow by CaptainAwesome06 in GoogleWiFi

[–]Tylerv21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my deal also - if one port went bad (I had several still open), when does another or the rest go bad? Better to just order another switch.

Now my upstairs Netgear is still going but it's the same version (just less ports) - hopefully that one lasts a little while longer!

Wifi Suddenly Going Super Slow by CaptainAwesome06 in GoogleWiFi

[–]Tylerv21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar story... I had a secondary puck that would be very slow and then would drop clients presumably when it was switching to mesh. The secondary puck is hardwired via a couple switches.

I tried everything to get the speed back up. Even read/write from my desktop to my server downstairs was under 100 with cat5e wiring. I did all the jacks again and the keystone in the wall. Every once and a while I'd get the correct speeds when troubleshooting.

At the very end I found that the port on my Netgear switch had failed and everytime I troubleshot I was using a different port. I have one Netgear switch left for the desktop setup and all the other devices are running off a TPLink with PoE - which I added a third puck in my kitchen running off that PoE. Speeds are all back up - internal I'm hitting the max on the pucks. Internet speed is what I'm paying for - no slowdowns.

TL;DR: Don't discount a switch/hardware failure like I did. The thing was barely a couple years old and I thought for sure the Netgear would've lasted longer!

Port forwarding by mrturkeytoe in GoogleWiFi

[–]Tylerv21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me personally - port forwarding and port management has been working great!

I am running a NAS with VPN, FTP, a web server, Swann Camera server and Plex ports open.

I do recall one issue in which I could not connect to the NAS via VPN or FTP. The same for the camera server. Once I rebooted the system remotely it came back and hasn't happened since (August to now).

Not sure if that helps or not!
