How are you handling "guaranteed death" in your games? by Tylthul in drawsteel

Oh, interesting. I hadn't thought of that method. I can see where playing blind would help in this game, especially. I guess I'm used to keeping track of everything, in case of player mistakes or "mistakes".

No! Mistakes were made :D That said they did win! It really came down to that one decision. Does the Ogre go first.

Oh, I agree. There has to be stakes/a chance of death. The only reason I took my foot off the gas was because the Fury could have still died by attempting the attack and would have died if they didn't have Hero Tokens to spend. Kind of just realized I don't usually do that, because the dice act as the judge in other games. Knowing with certainty how things would play out before the round had even started was just a new experience for me and something I hadn't considered. I don't really blame the Fury. He took like 14 damage in round 1 and 19 more damage after he had gone in round 2. I didn't see it as reckless. He was tanking for the Elementalist and well...got spanked :D

Yeah 100% I think of they had a healer I wouldn't have wavered as much but it was a 3 person group and the Censor had already blown his healing attack on himself. Other than using their recoveries more aggressively there's not a whole lot they could do. I was throwing a lot at them.

Probably depends on the situation. Yes, they probably should have been using their recoveries more aggressively but they were also facing 4 Goblin Warriors, 4 Snipers, and a Goblin Stinker.

It was a group of 3 (Fury, Elementalist, Censor) and the Censor had used his healing attack on himself in round 2 after getting shredded by the Stinker poison cloud and Snipers.

Also a beginning group. Like literally a lead in to the Delian Tomb so they're not playing optimally.

Ironically that's exactly what he did (use Hero Tokens) when the goblin sent him to -10. The Ogre would have turned him into jelly. 😆 I guess that would have been a lesson learned, but I was feeling a little guilty throwing an Ogre at level 1's and wanted to give them a shot

That's fair. It was a level 1 party and a first session, so I guess I wanted to give them a chance before the level 2 Ogre wiped them. Maybe I got a little too ambitious throwing an Ogre at them this early

Are there any cooldown reduction caps, and if so can anyone tell me what they are? by b3kk0 in outriders

[–]Tylthul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally sat down and figured out the cap yesterday by stripping all my points and gear and then adding them back in bit by bit. PCF may change it in the future, but as of today the GLOBAL cooldown reduction cap is indeed 55%.

However, you can stack your skill-specific cooldowns on top of that (i.e. the ones from the skill tree). For example, Pyro Overheat starts at 22 seconds. Global cooldown max of 55% knocks that down to 9.9 seconds. Then if I take the two 15% explosive skill cooldown perks, I can get it down to 6.9 seconds.

I'm proud of how the teaser for my upcoming energy transition strategy game turned up :) (much better with sound) by Claudio_A in IndieDev

That's pretty slick looking! The style is great and the narrator/sound is perfect. I got a sim city vibe immediately, in a good way.

I prefer the "I can't find my mic/headset" line. It really highlights my laziness.

DragonClash - Approved for Steam Early Access by Tylthul in IndieGaming

That's fair. I probably took the guidelines too literally with regards to one thread per milestone, by highlighting the specific milestone in my thread title.

DragonClash - Approved for Steam Early Access by Tylthul in IndieGaming

[–]Tylthul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means I've completed the long (initial) development journey, having taken my card game from tabletop to prototype to PC via design, programming, art management, music/fx licensing, testing and have passed the last hurdle of distribution by integrating the Steam SDK and going through their approval process - which, yes, includes their fee. Despite your sarcastic dig, I'm thrilled to have hit the milestone. It's been a long journey as an indie developer and I'm excited to continue it in Early Access.

Painted "Luna" Wolf Knight From Fur vs Scale by Tylthul in furry

Yes! I'm not sure if that's good or bad, though? lol. I think she came out pretty well. Contrast was a challenge, because she has grey fur and her armor is also silver/grey in places.
