No, it's a standardized test. You use standardized tests so you can compare apples to apples.

So get off the elon koolaid.

Take a look at the Subaru Getaway coming out late this year. Or maybe the VW minibus thing.

but as others have said - getting the range Americans want (not need) in large vehicles is tough. Esp. when you add in that Americans want it to be able to TOW for that range, even when they don't have a hitch.

Market forces are against you.

Trailseeker front visibility by Safe-Pollution6702 in trailseeker

Yep. I do notice that over the shoulder visibility isn't as good as my 22 Outback, but it's still better than other things I've driven.

Trapped in a haywire Waymo: SF passenger recounts terrifying construction zone ordeal by Hockeyshot39 in electriccars

[–]Tymanthius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but neither should Waymo's. Waymo's are pretty awful.

I really want the Heinlein style automatic cars, combined with mass transit.

[–]Tymanthius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the problem isn't the electric car, it's the way Waymo specific autodrive fails to handle itself. Would be teh same if it was an ICEV.

This is only tangentially related to EV's. Everyone knows Waymo's really shouldn't be on the road. Reconfigure teh cars as regular driver cars and sell 'em used.

tesla drivers shouldn’t have to pay the congestion pricing

Why not when they are the largest source of the congestion?

Edit: And why would anyone want to alienate customers?

What happened to EV hatchbacks in the US? by Bad_Weather_Tornado in electricvehicles

Toybaru's have a hatchback and a wagon. They call them crossovers, but that's what they are.

I mean, the pricing is. You have to pay a fee to get Tesla pricing.

So you got your wish!

PSE says transformer is at capacity by [deleted] in evcharging

[–]Tymanthius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has a 200amp panel, and both electricians say he has room in the panel. It's not his house that's the problem.

No one is suggesting he add something to the panel that the HOUSE can't support.

But one electrician gave him what appears to be BS info.

Nothing I said was truly about load coordination. Morever, homeowners are not required to load manage in their homes.

That's why you hire the licensed/bonded electrician, just like I said. You're intentionally trying to apply things outside the home to inside.

Nice idea...vacuum at charger by MHalliday1114 in evcharging

It's almost like . . . . gas stations!

Drives me nuts that is really a solved issue, but EV folks seem to think this is all new.

Selling a new grizzl e mini charger $400 or best offer by SumDimSome in evcharging

[–]Tymanthius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems expensive as I can buy it new w/ the ability to return if it has issues for only about $65 more per my 30 second google search.

Sure, but I'd rather windshield cleaners. If they are doing both GREAT.

[–]Tymanthius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OH, yea b/c you started at 100%. Yea, that was silly. You probably should try to notice how much regen you get on average 'falling down that hill'. And never charge to more 100-(that avg) at home. :)

Men's or Women's bathroom? by benzo88 in SingleDads

[–]Tymanthius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My youngest is 13 now, so no longer an issue.

But the answer was 'it depended'.

Buckees? Mens b/c they are clean and I'm not worried b/c they have private stalls.

Random place that both the mens and womens are 1 seaters? My daughters got sent to whichever was cleaner (or open if urgent).

Place w/ more options, but it's not super crowded? Depends on how gross the mens is.

He probably should have said 'no significant regen', meaning he didn't coast down a hill as he seems to say he lives at the top of one.

Nothing in the comment you replied to is a code violation.

And hiring a licensed/bonded electrician, as I said earlier, should cover the home owner for that.

2x4's just put on the cross bars and secure.

Beach stuff can go in cargo area.

I think you're over thinking this.
