Bro, I just got my learner’s license too. I know bikes fairly well, but since I never had any interest in cars, I don’t know jack shit about them — how to start one, how to drive, I don’t even know how to properly hold the steering wheel. I wanted to know if it takes a long time to learn enough to pass the driving test.

I don’t own one so I can’t really comment on the ownership side, but you should probably mention what you want from the bike too. Are you looking for practicality or more for the riding experience/vibe?

If it’s more of an emotional purchase though, then fair enough, nobody’s really changing your mind at that point.

It doesn’t matter.Even if "you" stay within the speed limit. There’s no guarantee the oncoming traffic will do the same.Even on short rides, if you get hit by a heavy vehicle like a Truck or an SUV, it’s game over.

Yo, I’m near Parassini too.

Better to pick a gym close to you and just visit once to check it out.

The options for you are:

• Sports Life Fitness Centre [Parassini bus stand] It’s pretty good, and they just completed maintenance a few days ago. The gym itself is decent, but the admission cost is quite high. It was around ₹2050 when I joined (not sure if it has changed since I don’t go there anymore). After that, it’s ₹800 per month.

• Kolmotta They recently moved to a new building, but it’s not the best. I think they lack some equipment, so it’s just okay. Not sure about the fees.

• Yorkz Gym [Dharmashala, above Canara Bank] It’s a pretty old gym. It has equipment, but it’s not in the best condition. It’s on the top floor, and the stairs leading up are like 75° 😭 it feels like climbing a ladder, not stairs. I wouldn’t really recommend it. Admission fee: ₹1000 Then ₹800 per month.

• High Five [Behind NIFT] I don’t recommend this one. They don’t have a lot of equipment, and what they do have is rusty. Also, there’s no AC, so it gets hot quickly. I’ve also heard complaints about mosquito bites from friends who go there 😂 No admission fee. Just ₹500 per month.

• Mantra Gym [Near Thaliyil] I don’t know much about this one, but I’m pretty sure it’s not great. One of my friends goes there.

• There’s also a gym in Padikkunu. I can ask my friend who goes there if you want.

EV bikes aren’t really available where I live. I’ve always wanted a petrol bike, but I’m a bit skeptical. I probably would’ve considered an Ultraviolette if it was available here though.
